more of connection and speed
This type of question is very difficult for others to answer for you.

It is a fact that SIMBA’s coverage is not going to be as good as the 3 incumbent telcos. Having said that, their coverage of most public spaces (including MRT stations) is pretty good & I have had no issues with them for the past year.

It is also a fact that the speed is not as fast as the 3 incumbent telcos. However, the speed is fast enough for you to do just about anything you wish on your device (including streaming 1080p Netflix/Disney+/Youtube, which is the max it would do on an iPad, or lossless music on Apple Music). However, if you are those that like to see big numbers in speedtest.net, then SIMBA is not for you.

Ultimately, the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. If you don’t want to risk porting over first, just sign up a separate line & see how it goes for you. If cannot, then just cancel the line & stick with your existing provider.

Based on the reviews and feedback in this thread, the general consensus is that the network provides adequate coverage in open spaces and most indoor areas. It also offers good speed for basic tasks such as web browsing, sending messages, and streaming videos on YouTube. However, it falls short in providing fast download and upload speeds (rarely reaching 70 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up)

IMHO.

Connection - Good connectivity in area with high foot fall.
Speed - Adequate speed in area with high foot fall.

If you are in a location where it is deem ulu by them, you will be out of luck with both connection and especially speed.

Like my home base, if I am lucky ( like now ), TPG gives me down/up - 4/4 Mbps.
When there are a lot of users, it will be half of that.
Heya.SG (MVNO) in my unlucky moment like now, down/up of 52/23 Mbps.
TPG is allocated 4G/5G bands but the speed I am getting is like 3G of my Singtel ?

I would say general use is ok.
But if you are a tad bit demanding e.g. f-fwd culture when streaming, it is not for you.
Also for me, I have a tendency not to use it for my Amazon.SG and e-banking.

YMMV, if the places you frequent are of the good locations, then it may be worth it.

Locally simba is still not there yet
But the overseas roaming package is very attractive

If their overseas plan is attractive to u, compared to buying sim on shopee.

One can just sign up esim simba one month just before u go overseas.

Then cancel just under 1 month.

I dont like buy sim card after u landed. I prefer to have internet access once landed while still in plane. So u can already start using your data while still in aircraft / clearing immigration q.

Nowadays immigration q are TERRIBLY LONG

Hi Guys, I noticed another weird problem with SIMBA on eSIM. Using iphone XR, once I had eSIM activated, the personal hotspot in Settings had disappeared. It was there before I had eSIM, now the personal hotspot cannot be seen, I had tried to restart the iphone, reset network settings but no avail.

Perhaps you may check with their support for:

1.Is there a penalty charge of $30 on service termination that is less than 30 days, and/or
2. The penalty charge of $30 will be impost on any number to be port out from SIMBA less than 30 days of service

If i am not wrong, if you submit your form of service termination with SIMBA 7 days before the next renewal date, you are not liable for any penalty charge.

The rather let them charge extra $10 then terminate still save $10 but never encountered this $30 charge before

Anyone has experience in esim porting for SIMBA
I just signed up online with my SingPass and paid $10. They send me a QR code to scan esim
I scanned it but cannot activate. Now still showing pending activation
any similar experience

i ported from giga to simba. you can immediately scan the esim qr after payment but the esim will only be activated after the porting is done successfully.

type in TPG under the personal hotspot APN name and the personal hotspot option will instantly reappear in your settings menu.

I signed up their Senior plan(saw somewhere that it is not a permanent plan though), at $5 for 20GB, I don't have much complaint. If I am not wrong, I can switch among the various plan when my needs change. Looking forward to use their Roaming MAX at $25 in my coming EU trip.

Just take note that there are limitations in terms of plan changes (generally speaking only to same price or more expensive plan).

https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/articles/15562459152409-What-are-the-SIMBA-plans-I-can-change-to-
So while you can change from Senior plan to Roaming Max, you cannot change back after your trip.

Personally, for me, I ported out to giga before the 30 days, about two months ago, but didn't get any $30 termination fee despite not informing them 7 days ahead.

I think you could be referring to https://simba.sg/static/media/TPG extends its *5 for 20GB Seniors Plan to November 2024.ed4645c7.pdf

The $5 seniors plan will be increased to $10 in December 2024. Also to add on that recently the Business plan changed to $8, so no more $5 for the first few months

Noted with thanks. It's good to learn that they don't enforce this policy on all new services taken, less than 30 days, then port out.

Your SIMBA line was applied online or at retail? I ask just to confirm if your credit card is in their system.
