the super laggy issue in Queenstown... for SIMBA. I didn't want to take the risk as well as the lag issue and slowness. Moved both my SIMBA 2 lines to (Singtel Hi 1 year plan senior) and (Eight 1 year Senior plan). Not looking back at all. no issues with my games, streaming and video calls. smooth. download n upload speeds are like 200mbps +++ download and 50mbps to 150mbps++++ upload. with SIMBA it has always been.... 15 mbps download and 8 mbps upload. and it dropped to 4G most of the time which i questioned SIMBA and they say maybe no 5G signal near Queenstown. which doesn't make sense (because it had 5G signal 6 mths ago here)
So whatever no point arguing just ported out to Eight and Singtel Hi. Perfect! ok cannot say perfect but i think i made the right choice.
I use to hv 3 simba lines. 1 ported to zym. another go to gomo... retaining 1 simba.
noticed simba signal is v dead in camp areas especially basement area. 🤣🤣🤣

Actually i also stay in Queenstown, Simba 5g slower than 4g, I had to switch to 4g. So now using Eight 5g +, way faster, but as I travel alot, Simba's data roaming n call roaming is still way better than Eight or singtel hi.

Ah, all you Queenstown people...

Have you tried walking into Sheng Siong in Tanglin Halt (Commonwealth MRT Station) with a Simba and a Singtel line?

Each time I went in while in the area, Singtel line went into a coma and I'd to switch to Simba or otherwise walk out to the cashier area. Same for a friend who lives in the area, but he's a Singtel diehard fan so no hope...

And making calls from overseas.
There are other plans with this benefit also, including StarHub.

If one wants a one-size-fits-all plan with good local coverage, SIMBA may not be it. It's great as a 2nd line tho, but as a single line, not so much.

Eight? haha... no thanks.

Simba is the OG... others are being forced to offer it. Now Maxx also has it now.

Not only eight, but Starhub's more expensive MNO 5G Enhanced+ and 5G platinum plans, or Starhub Prepaid.

1) Starhub MNO 5G Enhanced+ and 5G platinum plans -- unlimited roaming calls and SMS.
https://consumer.starhub.com/personal/store/mobile-plans

2) Starhub Prepaid (this is actually postpaid as per IMDA classifications) -- 100 minutes roaming voice calls and 25 or 50 roaming SMS; S$12 for 4G plan, S$15/S$20 for 5G plans.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/mobile/starhub-prepaid.html

3) Take note SIMBA, eight and Maxx do not support roaming outgoing SMS.

4) I will agree that SIMBA is a good line for roaming, it is not really a good idea to use SIMBA as a single line.

Simba overseas roaming also hai hao only.. used to keep a Simba sim for roaming but now I don't see a point anymore coz many other mvnos also offer similar offerings and more reliable local connectivity..just all in one..

Considering the price, Simba is good for overseas roaming use. Although signal may not be as good in Singapore, I do not actually have any issues using it. May not be as fast, but it still gets the job done. So many users on Simba. If it is really crap, people will be jumping out en mass already. If only if Imda has been more fair to it…

What it does is forcing the others down to its playing field. Last time $10 plan only has 4G. Now everyone is rushing to offer 5G+ at $10.
Let’s see if it is able to even lower the playing field further.
