Accountancy
Hi everyone. I am year 1 accounting and finance student with a gpa of 2.6. I want to enter a uni but I'm worried that I cant get into any uni if my gpa remain this low. And SIMGE is sort of my only hope.
Did some research on my course that i wanted and i want to know if there is any minimum gpa to enter or it is just like what others say which is just the pay the $$? Is there any interview process btw?
Thanks for the response!
I strongly advice you to spend your time studying than looking for inferior further study options to justify your poorer GPA. You can do your research again or seek advice from your polytechnic's career counsellor when you are year 3.
I believe there are distractions right now in your life. You will have to weight whether the distractions are worth your attention or focusing on getting better grades for a better university education.
If you are that sort of student who needs some kind of stress or anchor to force yourself to study, I suggest you start by getting close with your career counsellor/lecturers/tutors.
- Book appt with ur career counsellor now to plan internships for the rest of ur poly years.
- Got questions? Book appt with ur lecturers/tutors during their office hours.
- During seminars/tutorials, speak up, volunteer to solve questions, contribute to discussions.
- All these efforts you make will gradually force you to want to maintain them, so you will not lose favor/lose out to other students.
Like what the previous forumer suggest, UniSIM Part-time/Full-time Accountancy can be a choice for you. Aside from UniSIM,
- SIT Accountancy,
Design, Education & Social Science
- NUS, NTU, SMU Accountancy
FYI, to be a Chartered Accountant in Singapore, you do not necessarily need an accountancy degree.
Any recognised 3-year degree can apply for Singapore QP foundation programme,
