Hi guys, anyone has experience flying from Singapore to Tulsa, Oklahoma?

Tried to search for SQ (as usual, support our local carrier first) but to no avail.

Instead all the sites show Delta, United, JAL, etc..

1) Does SQ operates this route?
2) Any comments on Delta and United?

Welcome to share. Thanks!

I've flown to OK before, there are no direct flights to OK, it's not a large airport or a hub. Your best route is probably an indirect flight to New York from SG (SIA no longer flies directly to NY) and then from New York you'll be able to get a flight to OK via Delta or United (the domestic airlines in the US). Because it's the US you'll have to check out your luggage when you arrive in NY and then re-check your luggage in for the domestic leg, so just make sure you have adequate connection time.

Delta is a better airline, i feel, than United.
But u cant earn SQ miles on Delta.
U can credit United flights to SQ if u want.

Do u have any frequent flyer program?

Luggage can't through check to US even if the connecting flights are bought through the same carrier?

I'm in a couple of frequent flyer programs but honestly I'm more concern on the flight quality than points..

Seems like minimum there will be two transits after checking through some websites..

Yep, it's the US, they have special rules. It's annoying but nothing you can do about it. Everyone has to check out their luggage at the first point of arrival and then re-check in their luggage to continue on to domestic flights. So just make sure you have enough connection time.

You can get a direct flight from Newark Airport (EWR) to OK flying United.

Yea have to pick up luggage after immigration in USA and recheck it.
But u dont have to lug it out to the departure hall checkin if u have a single ticket from SIN to TUL.

U can just collect the bags, go through security scanner and drop it into the transfer belts, if your bags are checked all the way to TUL.

To get to TUL, have to connect via a main usa gateway city. The closest which have direct flights are ORD(Chicago) n IAH(Houston) n ATL(Atlanta).
Basically u need to transit twice minimum.

Find a carrier that flies in to either ORD, IAH or ATL. Then have a short flight to TUL.
Most of the other main cities require a connection.

SQ does fly to IAH i believe.
ANA flies to ORD too
Korean Air goes to ATL.

If u give us your dates, we can help u find a flight itinerary.

This is also a good time to consider a stopover holiday in one of the transit cities if u want.
Transit cities like Tokyo, Seoul, London etc.

In US, it is a requirement for all travelers to collect all their baggage and clear immigration and customs at their first port of call in the US.

Please note that there will be two scenarios.
1) Your bags are checked thru, (ie tagged all the way to your final destination). You have to collect your bags at your first port of call, then drop off at the convey belt after customs.

2) Your bags are only checked until the first port of call in US. You will have to collect your bags at your first port of call, then lug to domestic terminal and re-check in.

Also, do note that most domestic flights do charge for checked bags, unless it is within the same day of international flight on the same itinerary. You can book SQ plus other domestic flights (ie two separate itinerary), but they may not thru check for you plus you would be liable for domestic checked bags fee. Or you can look for carrier flying in to book everything within one itinerary (ANA allows booking of domestic on UA, for small increment in fees, or you can book US-based carriers).
