Civil Servant is part of the bureaucracy and it is important for ex-civil servants from various ministries to join politics.

This is because civil servants job by right is apolitical.

A bunch of Ministers are supposed to take the raw data formulated by these civil servants and take these formulas out and sell their koyok that this policy is the best overall for Singaporeans in the Parliament.

Then those elected MP from any side will scrutinize for holes since all humans do make mistakes and minimize any impact from the holes.


Of course, the minister from a political party is bounded to the party's ideology and this is where the Minister as the boss will ask the civil servant to work towards that goal by using available state resources.


But civil servant from different rankings are humans, and tend to form their opinions.

Hence, their involvement in politics is inevitable (From voting, to joining a party as candidate).



Therefore, in order for a day when non PAP government is formed, there must be another party to have former high ranking civil servants running as a candidate, or at least being part of the party's think tank so as to allow the parties to write more complete manifesto than a 6 page manifesto stuff.


So if PAP can do this, why shouldn't the oppo be allowed to do this?


The only thing you need to worry when there is a opposition candidate is part of the natural aristocrats. (And the same applies to the reverse context where a PAP candidate is part of the 'Untouchables')

That is the case where one must really scrutinize the actions of the person, whether if this person had done more good or harm towards building a multi-party democracy instead of a token democracy that is even practiced in North Korea.

TJS? nope.

TJS is the only one that helped explained the role of Elected President (EP) and supported the Workers' Party rationale for abolishing it in their 2011 GE manifesto (Along with abolishing GRCs).

Workers' Party were widely condemned for try to abolish EP as timebomb, and hence without TJS, WP will continued to be condemned.

So if one supports WP, he / she will vote SingFirst in areas where SingFirst is contesting.

What the **** TCB does? An elected version of Nathan? Can he do better than Ong Teng Cheong given that Ong dare to open the account.

He did not show that he is ready to do that.

Both TJS & TCB does not have foreign diplomatic experience by working as a FM like George Yeo or diplomats ambassadors. So KFC wins the 2 in this aspect while TJS & TCB are on level-playing field.



Tell me, how would a 'unifying figure' helps to facilitate national reconciliation? We saw Thais have absolute respect to their monarch. But there is no reconciliation even if we take the Islamist separatist force in Thai South out of equation.
