Hi, recently I had booked a pair of tickets to a destination. During the booking process, I never indicated our seat allocation. Just happen today when I decide to confirm my seat allocation, it seem that all the economy seat had been taken up except for one premium seat left. But there are two of us traveling. Just wondering whether is there any issue with overbooking, etc? Which may result us in not being able to board the plane on the said date and timing? Please kindly advise. Thanks

Have you been ticketed? Is your flight still many days away? Login again closer to your departure date. You will be able to select your seats.

Hi, can advise on ticketed? We buy the tickets online and payment already had been made. Our departure date is on 25 Dec. Just wondering how come SQ still take in passengers even through that is no more seat available.....

You have nothing to worry since your flight itinerary is confirmed. Try selecting your seat again from maybe 21st onwards...

Hi,

usually Singapore Airlines is very good with managing inventory, so you would not need to worry about overbooking.

SQ will usually block some seats from being selected so they can manage the seating if some people request to seat together. If you are worried, some give them a call.

If in the case overbooking occurs, they will either upgrade some pax to business class to accommodate the economy passengers or pay you compensation to move you to another flight ( if you are only informed of overbooking at time of check-in ).

My experience is that they tend to release swats 3-4 days before. Like my last trip to Milan when I booked left 5-6 seats. 3-4 daya before I left the bulk of the seats at the back were empty. Same goea for my LHR to SG flight.

if there's really no available seats during online check-in, no worries, check in at the airport counter. Who knows you'll probably be upgraded to biz class. :D (happen to me once on Cathay)

As indicated above by others, SQ does like to block seats and release them closer to departure dates. Also, SQ do tend not to overbook flights as much as other airlines, so the chances of not flying is rather low. With that said, SQ is also very stingy on the operational upgrades, if you have no status, then they might upgrade someone with status and put you in their seats. There have also been reports that economy passengers are denied boarding due to overbooking and they rather let the plane fly with empty business class seats.

Lastly for calling them, I've had good experience where they could excess blocked seats, but my last call to them was a disappointment and they could not give me the seats I wanted.

ic. Hope u guys are correct. As far as per today, the seat is still fully booked. Except for only one premium seat available which we refused to choose as it cost additional charges... :s13:

It depend on the route. It happen to me before. They either upgraee you to next class or somebody else. Worse case put you on next flight or other airlines.
