Most of your peeps have the wrong idea, that your talent will be developed through the school system, university, masters course, company course, Skillsfuture, and then now Govt will help you to cope with AI with extra training/attachment course...

You are absolutely wrong. The school and Singapore Inc is a TALENT HARVESTING centre.

YOU* are solely responsible for developing your own talent.

Singapore Inc is only here to HARVEST your talent. Eg. the MOE school system is a giant machine to sort students according to what talent they show.

With generative AI and LLMs ready to do white-collar knowledge work, what TALENT do you have for Singapore Inc to HARVEST?

This is the right way of thinking!

This mindset is similar to company hiring policy. They are looking for DROP-IN replacements, not greenhorns that they need to spend money training.

If you got talent of the right kinds, well-done, Singapore is the best place in the world for you!! Life is fantastic.

Got no talent....erm... sorry?

Think about the scholarship system... who gets it? Only those who got talent of the right kind.
You got talent, welcome, welcome! More will be given to you.

Aside from my inability to have a clear direction in life, as a below average salary person, I find it hard to learn any skills of value because the people at work focus 100% at preventing others from learning anything. This is on top of the fact that by default, there will be zero resources or manuals to read from. My past few jobs since 2018, everything is fully 'learnt' by googling or just simply unlocking higher levels of concentration to pick up from your own logic and observation.

At least when I started to join workforce 15 years ago, before all these AI and smartphone not so widespread, at least got a SOP manual to read from if you can tahan the boring-ness of it.

Now very xiong, just survive as a contract staff also like machiamp playing hardcore mode.

yo... you've never seen others who worked much much harder than you did. Study at night while holding a full-time job. Stuff of legends. If you have the will, it will be done.

Good for them but what has that got to do with me as a below-average normie who experienced toxic colleagues that deliberately spend all their effort hiding any information that is essential for completing work tasks?

If seeing is all it took for everyone to become a legend then Singapore should have been 100x the GDP of what we have now. Zero unemployment. Everyone become multi-millionaire.

Taking your own advice, if you have the will, then you won't be here blasting your one liners machiamp like you are godlike. So, the fact is you are also another below-average BBFA just trying to pwn your own sinkie by trying to drop your half-baked wisdom. Anyway, don't bother replying, I won't see it cause... you gone!!!

I think the good example is Joseph Schooling. They didn't develop his talent. Yet acknowledge his accomplishment...

This guy probably blocked this thread/me already because he doesn't understand my satire in the original title.
Satire: the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize

The reason I write this way is because I am also deeply unhappy about talent harvesting policy, but the fact remains is nothing I feel will change the current the situation.
