Hi friends,

Im a singapore PR with my family of hubby and daughter in P4. We got aus PR this year and we have moved to explore whether aus is suitable for us. Actually we dont like it and we have been living in sg for 15 years and almost in our minds singaporeans.
But now we cant go back to our homeland as we have been working in sg for quite long, we will not get job there, in aus we dont know yet.
we are thinking we made a mistake by moving to aus now but sg being a pr for long term does not look appealing for future gen.
Pls advise shd we move back to sg however and keep applying for citizenship even after few rejections? or shd stay in aus ?

Maybe you can share more information.
Expectations when you move to aust
Issues you faced
Why you prefer sg than aust

i prefer sg for child's education all the more, otherwise having established in sg is another reason majorly.

But my husband's job is travel so he needs citizenship for keeping work there otherwise its a risk which will ultimately affect us too as our PR is tied up to his's.

So we really dont know what to do at this situation, we just cant go back to our home country and need other passport but in vain. Also when he had a crisis in job he had to go out to find job as he could not find in sg which will affect the PR status eventually in sg..so we are struck
pls advise any other way to stay

Atleast in other countries like us aus and uk for babies they give citizenship so that they can continue their studies there itself and parents can work and go back to home.
atleast if sg do that im so happy..after 36/40 age we dont want citizenship our life is done mostly and kids as they are born here in sg cant manage home country culture after so long..they are so adaptive here..feel so bad for kids who has to leave education due to visa issues and leave the country and go to some other country and continue studies and later any change there leave there too...nomads we are and make our kids too..feel so bad as a parent, cant see well studying kid suffer due to us and our decision to come here and work..

Since you are already assimilated into the society, come back to Singapore.
We need more people like you to contribute to our country and grow together.
Give Singapore another chance.
Don't give up so easily.

Stay in Australia. Give it more time.

In simplest terms speaking
If salary >$6k and find SG comfortable then stay in SG
if salary <$6k usually find living in Aus more enjoyable just stay in Aus

Both countries have their own problems. I don’t think Australia has a brighter future than SG by any certainty

Aiyo, did you read her post? She's likely to be trolling.

Make decisions without thinking of the consequences. Move here move there, like playing masak masak. Says she's done with life at 36/40. then b!tch about Singapore by saying 'At least in other countries like us aus and uk for babies they give citizenship so that they can continue their studies there itself and parents can work and go back to home.' Then say don't want Singapore citizenship. Wayang here wayang there. B!tch about visa issues. It's not like she's in a dire situation anyway.

Move to Australia becos PR in Singapore not appealing. Then regret, want to move back. Then now come back to Singapore be PR is more appealing.

want to b!tch also don't give the correct facts. UK and Australia do not automatically give citizenship to anyone born in their countries.

Uncle, if you earn $30k/month, there must be a standard of intellectual level at least. Will you just pluck your family and move them to a foreign place just to explore and then regret? Such a big move no need to be highly intellectual also know need to consider and plan carefully. Most people would have at least lived in Australia for a while or at leave visit it a few times to be sure that the move is not a wrong move. Move there already then don't like? Only one post is about her daughter studying well in SG. Education in Australia not good enuff meh? The rest of the posts are visa issues, husband's job, etc.

Moving the entire family overseas is not like studying or working overseas.

I’m also thinking the same
Thank you

Have you been to Australia? Thinking and staying are two separate things.

I been to Australia many times for holidays. Yes, holidays and living there is different. I have friends who work there.

In my opinion, Australian is a challenging place to bring up children and work.

Children
- Most said they migrate because of their children.
- Most parents if they can afford, have their children in private school. You do some research how much it cost you.
- Most Asians send their children to private school.
- If you want to go to a good school, you have to stay in the right zone, (aka, the rental will be super expensive or the house prices will be super expensive).
- Uni fees are equally expensive

Commuting
- are you prepared to commute between 1.5 hours each way, unless you want to live in a shoe box apartment in town.

Australian PR vs SG PR
To each his own. Yes, SG PR has some disadvantages compared to a SG citizen. So what? Live within the privileges you are given.

Australian PR - yes, it allows you to work in AUS and live and whatever and you get all the benefits and yes you can convert to AUS citizenship. But what do you want at the end of the day?
it is for you, your child or you want the cake and eat it.

Have you ever wonder, why are there Australians in Singapore, working and living in Singapore. If Australia is so good as you said it is, why are the Aussies in SG?

Safety
- Are you worried about safety? In SG, we take safety for granted.

I know everyone wants the piece of cake and eat it. But the reality is, the cake could be poison chalice.
