But the question is still, is it really? Because cannot be just sukah sukah use that phrase on anything what.
What's else is quantifiable and can be applied in general to everyone?
Uhuh, given is the human factor so how does it explain anything?
Human factor is the enabler.
nonono the point is, one can choose to apply for anything they want, doesn’t matter how much it was allocated previously, because the difference will just be refunded. Why must it be based on something previously.
What guides your decisions? There should be some kind of basis, isn't it?

but the qns is why does it matter other than what the other person pointed out. it matters to people who already hit the 200k. and have to guess how much to apply as that determines how much to redeem.

how much you wish to get guides your decision. as simple as that.

there is no need to guess how much one might get so as to apply that amount. unless the use case mentioned above

It sure matters to those who need the info. Like what you say e.g. those who already hit 200k.

As I mentioned, if it is a case of ppl who has already hit 200k, fair enough.

If not don't see the reason to.

that being said, previous issues still a bad predictor.

Depends on the individual (whether hit 200k or not) on what they want to base decisions on.

Unfortunately there are only previous issues to look at for an estimation. Nothing else I can think of that is quantifiable and generalisable.

... on a side note ... I must start wishing ... my wish ... 500k allocation ... ;)
lai lai, we all huat together!

i mean that's true. because that's no different from saying some people apply x amount of SSB based on the amount of rain that falls in a month. because what the decision is based on can be up to one self.

but whether it has any relevance is another matter.

Can try redeem with ANY of the 3 local banks. Just have to enter your CDP number if you're doing it for the first time with the bank.

Exception: SSBs held inside SRS accounts. In that situation you'll need to apply for redemption via the bank holding your SRS account.

If I redeem my SSB after 2 months, before interest is credited to my account, do I still get any interests?

Sorry if the questions have been answered before.

Yes, you'll receive interest for however many holding months you've had since your last interest (coupon) payment. Less the $2 transaction fee per redemption.

You will get your accrued interest up to the last day they give back to you. I calculate before. Since it is month by month give everyone, everyone has the same accrued interest for the same SSB issue. If you notice why they have a cut-off period for ppl doing SSB redemption?
