eSim good or not ah? I go overseas still prefer to get the physical sim card.

Not bad. I tried my first e-sim with my prev seattle trip. No hassle. Somemore you can save it even after the trip then top up the e-sim with another plan the next time you go another country

Only catch is usually their plans don't come with talk time and sms. So if you do need to make normal calls, then have to buy physical sim card liao

Roaming is bky. Either i get their local sim card or icc. Problem with icc is dont have local number and need it to setup uber.

Have you setup uber before when they were still in Singapore? Can use back that account you set up in Singapore.

I used my singapore login for uber in USA, still works. Just that payment mode you have to either choose cash, or you link to google pay or apple pay because they can't accept Singapore cards (at least for me when I tried to link my card)

I like esim.
Also, my phone only one sim card slot, so less mafan to remove and change.
Why you prefer physical sim?
esim is the best implementation. Should have been this way for local telcos.

For anything calling to landlines i got skype free 60 mins of calling.

Otherwise, whatsapp calls and teams call-to-landline is fine too.

I use eSIM also, but usually I go for the local eSIM rather than those that need to turn on roaming like ICC

Call will usually make using whatsapp. Sms wont need unless need login to something that need otp, which is also rare

Oh. Hmm, Not sure if new sign ups they allow using email or not, but I log in using my singapore phone number and signed in with the otp code a couple of years back when trying to use uber in france.

Maybe you can try use your Singapore number to sign up first? See if it works, if not next time you change phone then cannot sign in back to uber as your travel sim card no longer in use

@kleong I just checked my account settings, there's login password etc so most likely they will allow email log in as well, just not sure if new sign up must use number first or not.

But just try sign up with account with your singapore number if only can use number, so if its successful then you don't have to worry about having to set up uber when you reach your destination
