Aunt agony auntie, I'm not even reaching my 20 at that time leh. My naivety didn't think that it could even led to a divorce so didn't ask. Those days people where got so easily divorce want? :unsure:

But in the recent past, one of my relative slapped his wife and the wife filed for divorced. It's the children who suffered for a few years without a home. Their matrimonial home was sold off to resolve the dispute and no alimony involved. There was also a reason why that woman wanted the cash sales over the children

Those days, women were not that educated and most were dependent on their husbands to bring the bacon home. So, divorce was not an alternative to them. They would try to endure for as long as they could. Thats also why there are many elderly divorcing when they are in their 60s etc.

It is definitely not a good environment for the kids to grow up in a family where the parents are quarrelling everyday.

Not too sure how true is this report. According to a report by independent.co.uk, the research also discovered that the significance of each other's physical appearance in the decision to marry also affects the risk of divorce. :unsure:
