I was browsing books past midnight because I couldn't sleep (excited as it was my first solo trip to Taiwan).. then she approach me and tried to talk to me in Jap.
I tried to communicate with her using google translate (that time not very good yet as it was in 2012) then sort of know she didn't join her friends go out and now she cannot find her way back to her hotel (which was actually just 5 mins walk away)...
then accompany her to her hotel then she say she scared to go up and stay the room alone as her friends not back yet, so accompanied her until 4+am

After that sibeh shack then almost cannot wake up the next morning to join my event

Good memories... the 1st 2 years of my solo trip I stay opposite, YMCA hotel. Always buy the 水煎包，臭豆腐 and 大肠面线 at one of the stalls a bit further down the picture then eat comfortably in room
