singlife never provide a timeframe?

Singlife will be adjusting the crediting rate (return) on the Singlife Account from 2.0% to 1.5% per annum (p.a.) for the first S$10,000 from 29 January 2021.

There will be no change to the 1.0% p.a. return for the next S$90,000 in your Singlife Account.

As our Singlife community may be familiar with, our crediting rates on the Singlife Account are non-guaranteed and subject to market conditions. This adjusted rate continues to remain competitive in the market, with customers enjoying flexibility with no lock-in or withdrawal fees.

Unexpected for the rate drop when market is doing relatively well. That tells me not to touch the funds they invested in.

And i want to add on, investing yourself somewhere else, perhaps even with the same funds Singlife invested in will fetch you several folds in returns...

This was my favorite go to account for the last few months to manage cashflow as there was no withdrawal fee and yet gave good 2% returns. I will miss this account :(

It still is the best place you can park extra cash, just like cash in wallet. But those who are new and into higher returns should really start to learn how to invest for real themselves. Like some edmwers who tried the Grow portfolio, DBS Digiportfolio etc. Singlife is just a stepping stone.

At 2% it was no brainer, to keep 10k in this account and I could use it for short term cashflow needs. Now there is alternative cash management options like Syfe cash+ and Endowus, where you can earn slightly higher, so I have to think twice should I keep entire 10k there or keep only like 3k-5k monthly expenses only.
