In my opinion, giving a 10% discount seems stingy and unapologetic. It's about showing good faith after an unprecedented prolonged disruption, and Singtel has failed that.

Probably someone ****ed up and updated beta firmware to sniff user packets without testing properly to core switch.

Hush hush ya know, big brudder is watching you.

Cannot be that simple, else it would not take them 24 hours to recover.

seem like a similar symptom this morning
depend if they did hard reset?
because powercycle cant cure it at times

well at least mine is well, and so are my neighbours..

the online peeps only kpkb while they did not follow exactly whats recommended. some go push reset button on ONT, of course that will de-sync everything. Some go reboot the ONT without rebooting the router sequentially, causing a mac conflict - if you read one by one these are the stories they posted. Then maybe some are really genuinely with a down time still...

But the SingTel staff on the page weren't exactly clear on how to go about it either. Not everyone is tech savvy and will understand what is reboot the ONT and router sequentially. I tried to help a guy but he didn't even know how to access his router configuration page.

so what's the correct way? I always just turn off the router and ONT. If lag. Wait for few mins than turn on the main.

Weird is a bit lag now after this long break down

the correct way to do a sequential reboot is to turn both ONT and router off and let them stay off for a few minutes. in the mean time you can go toilet or do something else for a few minutes.

Now after a few minutes, only turn on the ONT first and wait until you have 4 LEDs turned on. Some LEDs are flickering is okay, depending on which ONT model you use.

For example ZTE ONTs have:

1) Stable Power LED
2) Stable PON LED
3) Blinking Internet LED
4) Stable Phone 1 LED (stable only when your phone is not in use, blinks when in use)

As long as the 4 LEDs are stable, then proceed to turn on your router. When your router in turned on, the 5th LED on ONT will lit up, which is LAN 1.

This is the so called sequential reboot. some say need to turn off router first before turning on ONT, but its all fine if you wait for a few minutes after turning both off concurrently.

If your router can't work, do a reset on your router, but never push the reset on ONT..

I don't think anyone would be so stupid of not knowing to power cycle both ONT and router together. This is really a very simple thing to do.

If done together, it should work. If not, then something must be wrong with Singtel.

If there is a specific sequence for the ONT and router to be switched on, I will say this is a very silly kind of electronics design.

Actually none. I reboot router due to fw upgrade without reboot ONT. Also my ONT and router is on same power point. Off and on all together.
