An unexplained 6.2 per cent dive in SingPost shares on Wednesday might have something to do with fund selldowns in the postal and e-commerce group earlier this week, the latest Bloomberg ownership figures suggest.

Invesco Ltd appears to have sold off a huge chunk of its SingPost holdings since the start of this week. Though it held about 21.95 million shares or about 1.02 per cent of SingPost as at the end of Q4 2015, that number shrank to just 2.21 million shares or 0.10 per cent for Q1 2016 as at a Jan 6 filing date, Bloomberg data showed on Thursday.

BlackRock also seems to have pared its SingPost exposure. Its stake went down slightly from 15.56 million shares as at the end of Q4 2015 to 15.47 million shares or 0.72 per cent for Q1 2016 as at a filing date of Jan 6, Bloomberg figures indicate.

An Invesco spokesman told The Business Times over the phone that it could not comment. A BlackRock spokesman also said in an e-mail: "We don't comment on holdings and companies."

Singpost fundamentals still strong right?

Yup.

why I buy and keep.

dividends one year 4 time , amount given compare to SPH is not much but not bad.

Alibaba still have investment on Sing Post.

Online shopping , etc is always here and will be also for the future.

Sing post also " consider having government back up "

ok maybe some facts I might be wrong but never the less Sing Post is very stable , a good counter to keep.

But sadly I doubt it can reach its highest peak again at 2. That time sold some around that price when alibaba announce their investment on Sing Post. For now I already happy they can maintain at their usual 1.8 to 1.9 range provided global market don't have any big negative news etc.

Corporate governance probe: SingPost names PwC as special auditor

Jan 19, 20166:13 PM

SINGAPORE Post (SingPost) has tapped PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as the special auditor for a probe into the postal and e-commerce group's corporate governance, it said in a Singapore Exchange filing on Tuesday after the market closed.

The corporate governance issues that PwC will investigate surround the interest of a SingPost director, Keith Tay Ah Kee, in the group's acquisition of stakes in three companies: Famous Holdings, FS Mackenzie and Famous Pacific Shipping (NZ), it noted.

SingPost added that PwC would specifically review whether SingPost's constitution, internal policies and procedures - including those related to evaluation and approval of M&A transactions and conflicts of interest - and legal obligations were complied with in connection with the three acquisitions.

"In selecting the special auditor, the company worked to identify an established and reputable audit firm which could act professionally and objectively. The company is satisfied that the special auditor has performed its own internal procedures to determine that no conflict of interest exists that would impair its ability to discharge its professional responsibilities in relation to the work to be carried out by the special auditor," SingPost said in its statement. "As an added measure to ensure independence of advice, the company has required that no partner or auditor of the special auditor who has performed an audit or acted as consultant to the company shall be involved in this."

It also said that a "corporate governance review" by the board was underway and that the chairman of the audit committee, Soo Nam Chow, has been tasked to lead both the special audit exercise and the corporate governance review.
