This promotion is applicable only when customers sign up to a NEW 24-month 10Gbps Enhanced Fibre Broadband. This plan consists of 10Gbps Enhanced Fibre plan at a promotional price of $69.72/mth. A $68 monthly discount (across 24 months) will be applied on the Fibre broadband plan.

This promotion is applicable only when customers sign up or recontract to a 24-month 10Gbps Enhanced Fibre Broadband plan. This plan consists of 10Gbps Enhanced Fibre plan at a promotional price of $84.72/mth. A $53 monthly discount (across 24 months) will be applied on the Fibre broadband plan.

Sign up to a new 24 month = $69.72
Sign up or recontract to a 24 month = $84.72

So for me and those subscribers on lower speed and contract ending soon will be $69.72 or $84.72 ?

Why recontract is more expensive? Take cheaper one since 2nd and 3rd terms are the same.

Called 1688 and indeed $69.72 is only meant for new subscribers.
Need to fulfill current contract and terminate and reapply as new subscriber.
Might as well jump ship to other Telco once contract ended.

Yeah sad that existing customer treated differently for such promotion. They only always push for 2gbps upgrade

Managed to sign up as a new Fibre service at $70.36 /mth last weekend.

On the last day of my 1Gbps contract I Whatsapp them and was transfer to their Sales Dept.

Received their Service Agreement today and both the NLT and Fibre Installation schedule will be 2 different days next week.

Just to check. So the TP-Link HB810 (BE22000) WiFi 7 Router is configured as an AP since Singtel is providing its XGS-PON Optical Network Router (ONR) as below, right?

https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/singtel-symmetrical-broadband

If yes, then what router features in the TP-LINK router will not work?

https://www.tp-link.com/sg/service-provider/wifi-router/hb810/#specifications

SINGTEL promotes its wireless speed as 10Gbps not 22Gbps ie. MLO for 2.4GHz+5GHz only no 6GHz

For the first time in SG, experience 10Gbps wirelessly with WiFi 7.

With TP-Link's WiFi 7 Router, enjoy up to 10Gbps speed when you work, stream and play.
Max speed. Max bandwidth. Max out every opportunity to connect with your loved ones.

For sure that is a FALSE advertisement, none of the WiFi 7 devices will get 10Gbps from Wireless as of now.

The best results announced is about 5Gbps, in lab environment. Real word published results from Youtube as of now are about 3.6 to 3.8Gbps.

Reference from Huawei: 4.3Gbps from single device, 13Gbps from the wireless AP, certified LAB test results

Lab demo from Intel + Qualcomm --> about 5Gbps (not certified test results)

I think what SINGTEL is saying with MLO for its 2.4/5GHz bands one can achieve a theoretical speed of 10Gbps.

As you are aware MLO can don't have the 6GHz band. If MLO involves the 3 bands then it would be 22Gbps as below

Quote

*Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Actual wireless data throughput and wireless coverage are not guaranteed and will vary as a result of network conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors, including building materials, obstacles, volume and density of traffic, and client location.

**Use of WiFi 7 (802.11be), Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and features including 320 MHz Bandwidth, 4K-QAM, OFDMA, and MU-MIMO requires clients to also support the corresponding features. Not all 320 MHz channels may be available in the 6 GHz band in some regions/countries due to regulatory restrictions.

â–³The 320 MHz bandwidth is only available on the 6 GHz band and may be unavailable in some regions/countries due to regulatory restrictions. The double channel width and speed refer to 320 MHz compared to 160 MHz for WiFi 6 routers.

†Actual network speed may be limited by the rate of the product's Ethernet WAN or LAN port, the rate supported by the network cable, Internet service provider factors and other environmental conditions.

I believe SINGTEL is limiting the wireless speed to 10Gbps for 2 bands instead of what the router is capable of wirelessly ie. 22Gbps for 3 bands. If you have a modem and not using SINGTEL I believe you'll get 22Gbps (theoretical) with its MLO for the 3 bands. That's why it's BE22000

Currently I using Asus RT-AX86U
Was thinking to reuse it as AP for my CCTV only (Total 5) since it lag when I added 2 more.
So where should I plugged into ? To the ONR or to the TP-Link (AP) ?
Sorry I'm noob in networking stuff :)

I'm currently on 1Gbps ONR with bridge mode. Any idea if upgrade to 10Gbps, the new XGS-PON ONR can do bridge mode?

Oh no they removed the option for GT-AX11000 Pro Router. If I bought my own Asus wifi 7 router, will singtel install for me? 😬

No. But the installation of Asus router is pretty simple.
Im a complete noob. God knows how i managed to set up AIMesh myself but yeah, doubt i can get my main asus router to work with the ONR 🥲

Surely its not as simple as unplug their router, plug in my own router & viola without the need to reconfigure anything?

Because of the use of ONR, it can be a bit tricky.

1) Singtel will set up 10Gbps plan as following configuration.
Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR (no wireless) -- TP-Link HB810 WiFi 7 router (most likely in AP mode).

Since the ZTE XGS-PON is the main router, technically you can live with the above setup and no need to go with Asus, since the Asus router features will be useless in AP mode.

2) But if you still want to go with Asus, then you can go with the following configuration if you need AImesh with Ethernet backhaul.

Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR (no wireless) 10G port -- Asus WiFi 7 router in AP mode (main AImesh node)
Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR (no wireless) 1G port -- Asus WiFi 6/6E router in AP mode (AImesh mesh node)

3) If you want to have 10G Ethernet backhaul, then you can use the following configuration.

Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR (no wireless) 10G port -- 10G Switch
10G Switch LAN port -- 10G capable Asus WiFi 7 router in AP mode (main AImesh node)
10G Switch LAN port -- 10G capable Asus WiFi 7/6E/6 router in AP mode (AImesh mesh node)

Or the following if possible.
Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR (no wireless) 10G port -- WAN port of 10G capable Asus WiFi 7 router in AP mode (main AImesh node)
LAN port of main Asus AImesh node -- 10G capable Asus WiFi 7/6E/6 router in AP mode (AImesh mesh node)

4) If you do not want to use your powerful Asus router in AP mode, then you have to live with Double NAT and the set-up of Asus AImesh may be a bit tricky depending on your network configuration.

Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR (no wireless) 10G port -- WAN port of 10G capable Asus WiFi 7 router in router mode (main AImesh node, Double NAT)
LAN port of main Asus AImesh node -- 10G capable Asus WiFi 7/6E/6 router in AP mode (AImesh mesh node)

The following will NOT work in terms of AImesh.
Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR (no wireless) 10G port -- 10G Switch
10G Switch LAN port -- 10G capable Asus WiFi 7 router in router mode (main AImesh node, Double NAT)
10G Switch LAN port -- 10G capable Asus WiFi 7/6E/6 router in AP mode (AImesh mesh node)

5) Setting up AImesh in AP mode is simple. If you can do AImesh in router mode, you can do it in AP mode.

Wow thanks for the in depth explanation. You raised a good point, i guess in AP mode even a high end router like Asus GT-BE98 Pro is pretty much crippled so waste of money. Plus i will definitely need mesh for sufficient wifi coverage so two asus wifi 7 routers that are cripple is totally a waste of money.

My initial concern was the bundled HB810 router wasn’t very high end but yeah, its gonna be crippled in AP mode anyway 😅

And singtel has a promo of $16.80 per month for a second HB810 that suits me. So better off going for that and letting singtel installer do everything & just tell him set up with ethernet backhaul.

Since each HB810 has two 10gbps ports & two 2.5gbps ports, if im leaving one HB810 in my living room (connected by cable to 2 smart TVs) & the other HB810 in my master bedroom (connected to my Mac Mini & one IP cam by cable) i guess i don’t need a 10gbps switch at this stage right?
