Hi all,

I am struggling to understand why ST is charging 10 dollars per month for Bridge Mode.
I read some threads that you can enable it yourself on the Nokia 240 ONR using the superadmin user.

So why is ST asking for 10 dollars a month for something power users can do themselves? and a recurring charge? for what??
So again, if we can enable bridge mode ourselves... why is Singtel still asking users to pay?

The logic is that you ask for a service render, so charge. This is a service requested by client, an additional service not stipulated in the contract. If you are capable to diy, you are taking a risk at your own, If you failed, they may charge you for the damages cause to the equipment for a replacement of a new ONR.

The money logic, i can understand, but also sounds "dirty/scammy"? because you COULD do it yourself or they provide you with some basic instructions. I believe there is such instruction in some thread.

But regarding the service rendered charge. Shouldn't it be a one-time fee then? why recurring? Am missing something? does bridge mode mean extra load on their backend infrastructure?

What's wrong with making more money? This is stinktel we are talking about. The same one that adds on all sorts of 'value-added services" to your contract and hope you forget to cancel

When you bridge the ONR by yourself, they do not have any responsibilities. YMMV. One user bricked the ONR and had to pay Singtel to recover.

When they (Singtel) bridge the ONR for you, they need to support that. That is the difference. Some users prefer to have official bridging, especially when they could convince Singtel to do it for free. BTW, there were multiple reports of Singel installer bricking the ONR during the briging process.

In any case, I believe Singtel no longer provides such official bridging service. They have removed such clause from latest terms and conditions.
