Singtel customer service called me and told me that singtel will be separating singtel bundle into fibre internet and singtel tv. Currently my contract have not expire yet, will be until Dec 2015. Was told i got to take up this pack of fibre internet 200 Mbps $49.90 with singtel tv family starter $25.00. Currently paying $69.90 for 200 Mbps singtel bundle. Additional thing I am paying is $2.00 monthly rental for set top box. So I will be paying more before my contract expires, with more free channels which I do not watch? Anyone forced to take up their new offer?

i am also in the same plan as you, but my contract due next Mar 16. Did you check with Singtel what happen if you dont plan to renew? Are they going to increase the price? I dont intend to take up their new plan and plan to continue the old plan when my contract expires next year.

i think most ppl will faced same issue.
just spoke to singtel hotline staff and retailer on the same exact issue about 1mth back.
more costly ala carte to make up the bundle or remain existing legacy plan.

anyway till date both verify no information to phase out the plan, so can remain without recontract.

last time mio plan (before mio home), people also on it for many years until phase out, depend if anybody still on that plan not, mio plan is the most useless plan in comparison to mio home.

to add on, new stb should be more costly too. everything increase in short.

It seems like not an option to continue even for those with contract that have not expires yet. Think singtel customer service will be calling more people up, something is not right here even if there are rising cost for the telecom as our contract has not expires yet and yet we are forced to take up something and got to pay more. Will call singtel customer service to see if can continue until my contract ends without this separate plans.

better clarify where they are calling from?
or even telesales.

legacy plan always take at least 2-3year to kick everyone of the bandwagon, some even still valid i guess, example 12gb mobile plan.
not so easy de just from mobile/internet packages.

Please allow me to clarify.. You have misunderstood the information given to you from the telesales team.

It is true that the current plan you have which is known as Fibre Entertainment Bundle (FEB). It includes miotv, home digital line and fibre broadband.

The telesales CSO was trying to say that the current plans singtel is offering is known as Fibre Entertainment Bundle+ (FEB+).

FEB+ is also the same FEB, but it includes singtel tv instead. In order to form FEB+, you have to select any fibre broadband speed (e.g. 300/500/1Gbps fibre) and then another singtel tv pack. For your case, you cannot select a broadband plan which is lower than your current plan during contractual period. You may do so after your contract ended.

You are definitely not required to make it a compulsory FEB+ after your contract ended. Of course, your current FEB will be disbanded after your contract and you will be paying prevailing charges.

If you wish to remove the miotv, you have to do it after your contractual period, while you are eligible to upgrade to FEB+ after 21 months through your existing contract.

The only down side is that you will forgo your annual handset upgrade eligibility should you not recontract to FEB+.

Therefore the bottom line is, you are not forced to take up anything extra or forced to change any plan during your contractual period. Since the old plans are obsolete, either you take up the current FEB+ to continue enjoy multi-line discount + annual handset upgrade, or you can change to a fibre broadband plan without any penalty after your current contract ended.

I am also the same as you, but i choose not to recontract for FEB+ as i will save more without the singtel tv, moreover no one watches singtel tv in my family anyway. :D

a) Of course, your current FEB will be disbanded after your contract and you will be paying prevailing charges.

-> if there are no black and white, and the way you phrase you are representing singtel but u dont seem to be a singtel staff

quite skeptical about your comment, since both cso/telesales/exclusive retailer also didnt have the statement above.

singtel trial user is really wow

maybe must send to singtel and get them to advise us and your comment representing singtel on the validity.

b) The only down side is that you will forgo your annual handset upgrade eligibility should you not recontract to FEB+.

-> this i also ask before telesales/cso/exclusive retailer, less than 1 month back, no new policy, still able to recontract as per norm.

is your singtel trial title supersede singtel policy?
or new policy come out again? please share on this.
wow again on trial user.

A) if you wish to bring this up to singtel, I'm more than glad to challenge you.. if you wish to report to hwz administrator, again I challenge you to do so. If you are just hiding behind the screen, then sorry, prove me wrong about my information.

I already mentioned about myself being an ordinary subscriber and I was sharing what I know and what is available on singtel website on a personal capacity, and I have mentioned before I am not representing singtel in any way.

B) annual handset upgrade eligibility is based on your current validity of FEB. As long as you are still within contract of your FEB, you can still recontract your mobile keyline. This info is in the terms & conditions statement. Prove me if I am wrong.

Sorry, i don't deserve sarcasm from anyone when I have already stated my stand clearly, all posts are based on personal opinion and facts shared are true at the moment.

I can remove the trial user title anytime and I will stop sharing my experience and knowledge if more people like you come in and troll.

I'm still on the phased-out mio Home 10M plan.
Didn't receive any calls for forced upgrade and wouldn't want to upgrade unless they 'forced' since the most basic TV package now omitted Jiale Channel, which is being watched by my parents and they only offer 500MB 4G 300Mbps BBOM, which I suppose will be used up very fast, as to my current free 1GB 3G 7.2Mbps BBOM, which is fast for me(and the SIM is on my Redmi 1s, which is only 3G-capable). :)

so u will be disbanded after your contract and you will be paying prevailing charges.

just jk, someone posted this statement for those on legacy plan.

unless telesales/cso/exclusive retailer all wrong, then all 3 channel would be shutdown by now?

anyway u r still having the annual recontract right?

I just reconfirmed with a representative from 1688, even if FEB is out of contract, the monthly subscription is still the same as contractual period, with annual handset upgrade and multi line discount.

I apologise for the wrong info given.

I see, my mio Home is due for recontract since last June(21mths). If I were to upgrade, the basic TV package doesn't have channels that my parents or relatives will frequently watch and it will basically be redundant(since I don't watch Singtel TV too often so try to pay as less as possible).

Yeah, still have the annual mobile recontract deal ongoing for me. Might get the next iPhone haha~ :D

My contract for fibre + mio tv + home bundle is ending.

By looking at the new plan which separate fibre and mio tv into 2 diff part, it's like kinda not worth to take up the plan.

But I need something like miotv in my room so that i can watch chn8, 5 and U.

Is there any other choice other than taking the miotv plan? kinda not worth paying so much extra jus to watch chn8, 5 and U.

if you keep the bundle untouched after the contractual period, your subscription remains the same, and you enjoy your current privileges... the only thing is that your set top box rental fee will jump up to the non-promotional rate, which i forgot how much already...

if the miotv is important, then leave it alone after the contract lor...

Option 1: If ur area is DVB-T2 ready, then u can just buy DVB-T2 antenna which cost less than $30.

Option 2: If u got tv box or smart tv, u can just stream directly to toggle live tv.
