Zym lor hahha... Roam Plus 4G with free 5G 180 days.
IMHO.
I am on Circles.Life 5G 1Tb @ $10.70.
I heard 3 months they will pull stunt. Mine closing to 3 months.
There is a promo now unlimited @ $8.00 - I may get one more.

Speed is good. Max speed this early morning. 527 Mbps / 47 Mbps.

P.S. I am running 2-nodes MESH. Total at the moment is 17 devices.

Not sure if SingTel Hi 4G is the same as SingTel 4G so it would be great if you can share your feedback after a month. Is yours the $12 plan or the senior plan? Is caller ID free?

I took the $12 plan. My Original Singtel SIM Only plan was also a 4G only plan before the arrival of 5G, so I knew and experienced a Singtel 4G only experience. Hence I knew what I was signing up for when I decide to go to Singtel hi!. Main reason is to avoid any "bill shock" and the thought of re-contracting every year and those caller ID charges etc etc.

I may go back to Singtel direct SIM Only plan when needed.

1) Non-senior plan
Singtel hi! 4G is NOT the same but close to Singtel SIM Only (5G plan) in 4G mode, based on my one-month use of Singtel hi! S$10 plan (port-in offer, same as the S$12 plan). Called ID is free.

@xiaofan described it clearly. However I am not too sure the differences in 4G between Singtel hi! and Singtel SIM Only 4G.

SingTel SIM Only does not have 4G plan now, only 5G plans, including the cheapest S$15.28 per month plan which is still 5G. And most of the time I can get 5G (either NSA or SA) with my S$15.28 plan.

User experiences -- not much differences based on my limited testing within one month, between Singtel hi! 4G plan and the Singtel $15.28 plan forced with 4G mode. Of course the support is different. You get much better support from Singtel with the S$15.28 plan compared to Singtel hi!.

You actually get much better support from Singtel for the Prepaid plans as well. For example, Singtel physical shop has a counter for Singtel Prepaid customers, nothing for Singtel Gomo or Singtel hi! 4G postpaid plans. Singtel Prepaid plans are 5G enabled as well.

SingTel Hi (postpaid) is a rebrand of Heya which is a budget brand. I don’t think one can take it as a given that SingTel 4G before 5G came along is the same as Heya/Singtel Hi 4G as the advent of MVNOs has introduced this thing called network priority. Hence, I wanted to ask actual users for their experience. I have been with SingTel for a long time and my phone is always set to use 4G as I don’t see the need for 5G. No issues with connections even in the tunnels.

IMHO.
Sooner or later, the 4G base stations will RIP.
My experience with Singtel 4G at the peak, download/upload is 491/93 Mbps i.e. 5G territory.
Gradually, these numbers has been getting lower and lower.
Heya 4G started at around 125Mbps download, it went up above 200 Mbps range and then come down again.
For Heya 4G and Singtel MVNO 4G like Zym, there is no priority - I did side by side testing.

3G was only phased out not so long ago so it stands to reason 4G services won’t disappear anytime soon.

It will not disappear but the user experiences will gradually get worse. No need to worry so much now though, at least for Singtel 4G network. Starhub 4G netwok is already congested. M1 4G network has coverage issue.

Probbably the user experience will become much worse after year 2028 to 2030 when 6G network will start the deployment. 4G network may disappear only after 2032 with 6G deployment getting mature. Let's see.

You are betting on the fact that the 4G base stations later on do not become faulty and will not get decommissioned.
5G can use 4G bands. Sooner or later, more will be allocated to 5G.
Like I describe earlier on the top speed of 4G and now... you can see the difference.

From AI. 2G and 3G average is 21 years.

If we look at the typical lifespan of mobile generations:
  • 2G lasted about 23 years in Singapore (1994–2017).
  • 3G lasted about 19 years (2005–2024).
  • 4G launched in 2012, meaning it is currently 14 years old.

For mobile phone use, speed is not a big issue, even stable 10Mbps should be good enough.

But for the replacement of Fibre Broadband, indeed the speed can be a problem.

No time to test but I feel Heya performance is degrading over time.
Last time I used to be able to talk about the high speed.

Download is just one component. Upload is another.
Telco usually have high download but low upload - like a bid to control bandwidth.
Like SImba, 100 or 200 Gb, quite difficult to use finish if the download is 10 Mbps.

Many users will tell you streaming on 5G mobile broadband vs Fiber broadband is ok - they can try skimming and scanning on Netflix, it will lag. These days, I use wired, also notice lag on Netflix.

Hi, I've ported over from Direct Singtel SIM Only Plan to Singtel hi!.

It works as expected, so far no issues. What you expect from Singtel 4G, it feels the same. I have not tried at crowded places like concerts.
Hi....

1. U transfer Singtel sim only plan to Singtel Hi via online or at retail? cause i got experience singtel shop smokescreen me, later they said cannot.
2. U submit the transfer request before or after contract ended?
3. They will issue new sim card? free or need to pay?
4. The monthly subscription is automatically deduct from cc or need to manual topup?

thanks

Take note SIngtel Shop does not support Singtel hi! 4G postpaid plans (or Gomo plans or the old heya plans). They do support Singtel hi! Prepaid customers (including the hi! S$15 5G plan).

Same that M1 Shop does not handle M1 Maxx. They do support M1 Prepaid Customers.

Starhub Shop does not handle the new Starhub Prepaid S/M/L plans (postpaid plans as per IMDA classifications). They used to support Starhub Happy Prepaid Card customers (true prepaid plan as per IMDA classifications).

1. I did at IT show. I don't trust those neighborhood shops. I needed physical SIM. If you don't, can do it online. At IT Show, the booth looks like "official booth" but is actually an events company contracted by Singtel to run it. Still the safer option than neighborhood shops.

2. My contract ended few months back.

3. Free SIM. Be aware that some dirty neighborhood shops will charge 'admin fees' or 'SIM issuance fees'. Which is why I don't trust them. I encountered them before.

4. For CC, automatically deduct. Wallet Balance, manually buy after your current plan ends. Wallet balance will not auto deduct monthly.
