Hi all, my Singtel mobile plan contract will be expiring in Feb 2014. Does anyone know how much I have to pay to recontract now? And what methods are there if I wish to recontract now without paying the extra amount?

I have been a singtel customer for probably 10 years now.. Can I ask for a voucher? If so, how much can I ask for?

Thanks in advance!

Expiring in Feb 2014 means 24 months or 21 months? Because you can recontract at 21 months.

Just call and ask for voucher. Amount depends on the plan you are on and the cso you talk to. I don't think the number of years you have been with them counts. Do they treat you better with each passing year?? :s39:

Check if your contract is already more than 12 or 21 months. More than 12 but less than 21 months will have to pay a top up fee. I highly doubt Singtel will give out vouchers, at most probably only $20.

My line is on the 21 months recontract scheme.. I know how some people tell them that they will be leaving the country, so they wish to recontract earlier. Does that work? Cause I just checked.. If I wish to recontract now, I have to pay an extra 250-300 bucks since my 21 months isnt up yet.

Wonder if anyone has similar situation? I just called the singtel customer service and requested for voucher as I just realised that I'm eligible for recontract after two years. But to my disappointment, I was told they have stopped giving vouchers for recontract since last year Nov, is that true?

Two years ago i received notification letter attached with $100 voucher informing that my mobile plan been up and eligible for recontract. Furthermore, I used to be premier user and monthly bill hundred plus.

I was supposed to recontract in last year June but I didn't receive any letter or voucher from singtel hence I'm not awared that my plan is eligible for recontract until recently my old iPhone started to give me issues and wanted to change phone. Thats when I called in to singtel hotline and inquired.
I was also informed by the customer service officer that there wont be any notification letter send out. Is that mean that we have to do own tracking? The officer replied it stated in the contract t&c two years ago.

Btw, I login into the online account and checked for mobile plan details then I realised that I'm eligible for recontract.

Can anyone shed some light here?

iirc, all telcos no longer give out recon vouchers unless you are using the most exp price plan.

you can check your re-contract eligibility via the telco app (mysingtel, mystarhub, myM1). easy to check. dont need call in. dont need receive letters.

If you're looking for discounts/deals, PC Show is tomorrow at Expo, usually the deals are available at their retail shops.

Otherwise, you can still enjoy $30 off handset if you recontract on Singtelshop.com.

I recently did, but note how you recontract can mean paying more or less, the site is very inconsistent.

Eg. I wanted to switch to Easy Mobile plan but you don't get $30 off handset if you do, and you have to pay for SIM card and registration extra, an extra $40+, (because I needed to change to the new Nano SIM for the new phone).

I ended up recontracting one of the Combo plans, with the $30 off handset, and waive SIM card, paying a lot less. And according to T&C, after 6 months of contract, I can switch to Easy Mobile, but I save almost $80.

But do note that the Singtelshop.com site is currently undergoing redesign, and there are errors. One error that I encountered is the missing Caller ID VAS selection when you sign up, so they will forcibly terminate your Caller ID. Screenshots on the error is here. You can easily restore Caller ID VAS by calling Customer Care to explain the situation, don't bother trying the email support on the website, I'm not sure it's working because I never received an acknowledgement or response from using it.
