He's been saying for quite a while now that Singtel has the headroom to give out more dividends and looks like he is correct again! I'm sure he will be doing an update to factor in the latest result. Wait for it.

Finally they are willing to match Starhub in terms of dividends!

If you include the interim dividend 6.8c, its actually exceed Starhub's total of 20c dividend for the full year.

I am glad i held on to my shares even after they dropped below $2.90 a few mths back ! 8.2% div yield for me...never expected to see this from Singtel

Hopefully we can see $3.50 soon

My take is that this is a special dividend and although they can safely pay this amount, Singtel still wants to invest in growth, so they will not pay out 8% every year.

A safe estimate is that if you want a stock that can prudently pay out 5% yield now, but can possibly grow that yield to 6.7% then this is the stock for you.

According to the directors, they cant find a use for it for other acquisitions so decided to give the surplus out as special div. However they also said this will not affect future acquisitions ! so its all good

Do you guys expect Singtel's profit to rise next quarter in tandem with their 37% increase in customer base. And if they could plug the gap in their India Bharti's loss, I think the prospects are quite good. Wish I had Singtel's shares. Wish I had some Singtel shares.

Sigh, wish I can say what belongs to my wife's also belongs to me.

singtel has a very high forex risk exposure
every quarter they never fail to highlight revenue or profit reduction due to forex conversion esp from A$ (Optus unit) and Bharti has been disappointing for quite some time

otherwise, its doing fine! its normal dividends alone is already attractive
quite a stable stock also.. price dont move too drastically
