Have a Nokia G240 ONR from Singtel, I cannot change any settings inside the ONR. Can login, but most options are greyed out and cannot change.

Any advice?

The ONR is managed by Singtel. They push the settings out from their end, so there's no configuration that will stay even if you make changes.

If you are an advanced user, Singtel is not for you.

If you want to use your router, Singtel is not for you.

Take note only relatively new users get ONR.

There are still many Singtel users who are still using ONT. You just need a VLAN enabled router to work with SingTel ONT.

And you can request SingTel to bridge the ONR. Once bridged you can use whatever router you like as no VLAN is required.

From the other thread.

Thanks. Confirmed the same with SingTel support via WhatsApp :
„ONR bridge mode, LAN 1 is dedicated for Internet, LAN 2-4 is for Singtel TV. On 1+1 Gamer Bundle plan then then ONR Lan 1-3 will be internet access, and 4th port is bridge for 3rd party RG.“
„you can still revert back from Bridge Mode to Usual ONR mode when you wanted to use all Ethernet Ports on ONR under Singtel Connection Management.“
„The bridge mode will be activated without the VLAN since Singtel will no longer manage your router and Internet connection as you will using a 3rd party router.“
So I should be good to go. Thanks for your advises!

Actually changed to MyRepublic already, just wondering since I still have ONR and decided to play around with it.

Interesting they did not ask you to return the ONR. Normally you do not return the ONT and the free wireless router but I remember they required the return of the ONR last time.

Is there any settings to be done in Nokia ONR (Singtel) to allow one computer to access another on a specific port?

My current setup:

Nokia ONR
-- Port 4 : Askey Mesh (192.168.1.2)

Askey Mesh
-- Port 1 : Nokia ONR
-- Port 2 : Raspberry Pi (192.168.1.3) | running dynamic DNS service
-- WLAN : iPad (192.168.1.4)

On Nokia ONR, I had enabled port forwarding to Raspberry Pi (192.168.1.3) for port 8123.

Using my iPad (connected to Askey Mesh), I am able to access Raspberry Pi externally at port 8123 through dynamic DNS link (e.g. http:// testing.duckdns.org:8123) but not internally (http:// 192.168.1.3:8123).

So you are running a DNS server (is it Pi-Hole?) on your Raspberry Pi. By right it should have nothing to do with the ONR, rather there is some settings wrong in your iPad or your Raspberry Pi. I tend to think you do it wrongly with the Raspberry Pi side.

Does the askey mesh has extra ports for you to connect to? Try placing the pi there instead and see if you can ping.

Missed out the key details, my bad.

Code:
Nokia ONR
-- Port 4 : Askey Mesh (192.168.1.2)

Note: Port forwarding to 192.168.1.4 for port 8123. ONR is not on bridge mode and DHCP is managed through ONR.

Askey Mesh
-- Port 1 : Nokia ONR
-- Port 2 : Raspberry Pi (192.168.1.3) | running dynamic DNS service (duckdns) to map WAN IP and Home Assistant
-- WLAN : iPad (192.168.1.4)

I am running Home Assistant on Raspberry Pi.

For my iPad:
Internet access: working fine and able to access Raspberry Pi via dynamic DNS link (http:// testing.duckdns.org:8123).
Intranet access: I am able to access Nokia ONR admin page (192.168.1.254) except for Raspberry Pi internal IP (http:// 192.168.1.3:8123)

Does the askey mesh has extra ports for you to connect to? Try placing the pi there instead and see if you can ping.

Currently the Pi is connected to the network via Askey's 2nd LAN port. It is accessible through the internet but not through intranet.

Try changing the port to 55555. Are you able to access home assistant via the ddns address when you are connected to your home network?

So what exactly do you want to configure? For example, static IP with MAC address, etc. Prepare your explanation and call SingTel hotline, they will come to change the router.

By default, SingTel will issue Nokia ONR router which is cheap and cannot configure anything. After calling them, they will come to replace it with Huawei ONR which is a more expensive model that can configure many settings.

Can you share what are the settings available for your Huawei ONR? Thanks a lot for the help in advance. SingTel documents for the ONR is next to nonexistent.

Examples:
DNS server
VPN server options
VPN client options
DDNS options
DMZ
USB drive related function (simple NAS)
Parental control related functions
Logging features
Other security features
Static route
Port forwarding
Etc

Since this is an older post, please take note that SingTel stopped to entertain new ONR bridging request since March 2022.

@xiaofan I went to see my Nokia ONR settings again. I found this. Do you think it will allow me to save the settings? :ROFLMAO:
