I'm porting out of Starsuck after 12years tomorrow as the contract ends tomorrow.

Would like to hear from M1 and Singtel LTE users on the experiences.

Thanks

As a singtel user, I am satisfied with the LTE coverage and speed. All major places as well as certain parts of circle line underground are having decent LTE coverage and speed.

I cant say for m1 and starhub, but singtel is what I recommend..

singtel prepaid.

you can port over to anywhere you like anytime.

why tie yourself to unflexible postpaid?

Based on the LTE tests done by HWZ which you can find in their articles, M1 and Singtel's LTE speeds are quite comparable. Personally using M1 and their LTE is not bad for coverage and speed.

In terms of mobile plans, definitely M1 plans would be more value-for-money in terms of things like more talktime. [not taking into account whatever multi-service or bundle discounts you may have from either telco]

Call wise, SingTel still have better reception.

Data wise, it is location based and 4G and 3G dependant. Just try to imagine this: M1 has a lot of younger users and their plans are cheaper, so generally attracts middle and lower income group. Therefore it is no surprise that the service is not as good in the West compared to Central areas. If you go Bugis, M1 is bad... StarHub is worst of all, SingTel is slightly better. This is my usage experience.

SingTel 3G is gone case 2 years back, now should be worse as they are channelling resources to 4G. SingTel may have higher throughput at certain locations on 4G, but the surfing experience is almost always better on M1.

ST: Better but more expensive and a lot of hidden removeable features/costs
M1: Worse but cheaper

dont say i never say, Prepaid has free 4G and Free Caller ID etc....

don't know why u all die die die die die must get postpaid? can say why?

you lose the SIM can get back the same number, tried that done that. So what's with people not getting prepaid? you still have to pay bills just like topups. but you can topup after you finished. but you have to pay bills before the due date.

apart from the multi-line which doesn't really save more than prepaid, there's basically no benefits in getting postpaid, other than you can call 1900 hotline to donate $$$.

Because most of us want a telco subsidised phone. Some of us have fibre entertainment bundle which allows discount on subscription fee. Moreover, having a postpaid plan is way cheaper in terms of talk time and data bundle..

Without the bundled talk time and data bundle, prepaid is too expensive for me. Let alone there is no free incoming call for basic prepaid sim..

Mainly for the bundled talktime and sms, if you need those two then with multiline or corporate discount, post is cheaper than pre.

If you have bundle lines or other services, M1 is cheaper and does not treat you like s.h.i.t. compared to SingTel. Had been with SingTel for 12 years, all they told me are "it is my phone's fault for the slow internet speed and it is peak hours, so 15kbps is normal" until I **** the crap out of them with IDA to repair the damaged base station in Tiong Bahru 3 years back.

More importantly M1 treat me as a human in a human form. SingTel is just treating people as robots in a robot form.

No, M1 is not better in speed or connectivity compared to SingTel. But M1 3G and 4G are more stable. If you go to places more atas, M1 tends to be faster (they have cheaper plans to attract younger generations. In Bugis, it is slower coz of the youth there. StarHub worst at Bugis. SingTel I dont know.

For the benefits you are receiving to promote singtel, of course we expect you to recommend them.

If raffles place a major location? Is it not the place where millions of people pass through on the way to work every morning?

Why then is lte coverage almost non existent in and around raffles place mrt? Your statements as always lack objective facts in support

i am on SingTel for my home line, home fibre and HP with other members of my family. I also have a Starhub Corporate line given by my company. Let me share with you my views and you can decide urself.

SingTel

1) reception slightly better than other Telco but sometimes data speed is bad.
2) some misc charges are hidden/not communicate to you before so mus check bills to ensure not over charged.

if ur are on SingTel's Fibre Entertainment Bundle and most of your family member are on SingTel, you all can get 30% discount with max up to 5 lines. savings every month. (M1 have this too but i am not sure on the percentage. can google to find out more)

if you are working in some MNC or even some SME in SG, you might wanna consider which telco your company is tying up with. CIS (Corporate Individual Scheme) plans, the monthly subscription is cheaper with free Caller ID.

also most importantly is check your house itself for the reception. surely no one wanna go back home to not have any reception.

my humble credit to you for posting balanced reviews - there are both good and bad aspects to each telco's services

Congrats. I'll be doing the same next week and in November.

Going by my experience with their call centre, I'll be signing everything with m1. At least I hear local voice and they don't anyhow disseminate information

actually now that is my dilemma now as I am thinking should I choose singtel or m1 as at my own room, my singtel line always go to only G mode and even when I move out to the living room it is still stuck at G mode but my ipad under m1 is constantly stable.but yet my singtel contract will be ending only next year june even though I am able to take up a new phone now..I am not sure if I should sign up with singtel again or take up a new line under m1.

Contact Singtel and ask them if they can offer any solution to your bad signal.

Callers always unable to call-in under tunnel with Singtel line. I have Samsung, HTC, Nokia, LG all got this problem. So my conclusion is not the phone but SingTel network weak under tunnel.
