SingTel or Starhub?

Hi everyone!!

I will be signing up for a new contract/line on the iPhone 5s launch day (hopefully!) I'm still not sure which provider I should sign up with. I don't really care about talk minutes or SMS but rather, am more concerned about data. The value plan for SingTel offers 3GB whereas StarHub offers 4GB (+1GB free for students, for 12 months) and the excess data charges are cheaper. Is the 4G speed of either SingTel/StarHub significantly better than the other? [newbie sorry]

Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

SingTel has significantly better 4G signal and speeds.
If you want more data, go for Starhub.

Why discount M1?

If you want more expensive on your data and subject to further data cuts in future (Since they are market leader in increasing the price), go Singtel.

If you want lack of 4G coverage for the next few more months until early 2014 (Should be by Dec 2013), go Starhub

If you want best of both worlds, go M1.

Starhub did promised better 4G coverage by the end of the year.. In fact entire island 4G. Now... its pathetic!

Actually, I must say something to defend Starhub, back when I was serving my NS in Tekong, Starhub's network is by far the best even when the antenna tower used in Tekong is by Singtel. Especially those in Rocky Hill can only dream to use 3G if they were on Singtel. Even worst, sometimes their network will "auto-roam". Most recruits there can attest to this.

Lets come back to the mainland, my Starhub coverage in the Tampines area is good as well as my workplace in Changi Airport. Thus, one must compare and ask family/friends who are living and working at the same place as you to gauge the signal of their 3G/4G.

No point to do a blanket statement that the coverage of Singtel/M1/Starhub is better or the best. It all boils down to the location where you use your hp most often. So go do some research and Q&A, it would serve you better.

One more factor is Customer Service, later the network give you problem and kena substandard CS then you really will feel the pain of joining that telco.

I face the same problem when I work in high rise office. What I do is to set network to "manual" and not "automatic".. And then choose Singtel for manual network so as to avoid receiving incoming call from auto roaming service like network from Indonesia and Malaysia

It's always been Singtel, M1, Starhub. In that order.

I face the same problem when I work in high rise office. What I do is to set network to "manual" and not "automatic".. And then choose Singtel for manual network so as to avoid receiving incoming call from auto roaming service like network from Indonesia and Malaysia

when I was at uob plaza the attidude. lvl62 indoor or the outdoor at the rooftop garden

so I guess that ulu top is m1 weak spot

my m1 kept on dc haahz even on voice call and data
only sms can go out
on all bands
2g 3g 4g but odd too my singtel user no issue
