Hi all, I currently have the single band singtel modem with the supposedly upgraded from the old 100mps to 200mps fibre home plan (includes home line and mio tv). If i re-contract to the same plan, will i get the dual band modem for free?

Upon re-contract the CSO will try to tell you that your modem is compatible to 200 Mbps and ask you to use back your old modem. However, you can say: "I want the FOC Aztech FG7003 and will only re-contract if Singtel offer it to me. My existing modem is not working well and wifi keep dropping off so I want the new FG7003. I will not re-contract without it." It depend how you speak to people.

Just take note ah, he is a big troll in singtel and M1 threads. So take his advice with a pinch of salt and with extreme caution...

My 2 cents.

At the end of the day, if anything happens, Henry Ng will not take responsibility. It will all fall under your shoulders and you would have to liaise with Singtel... He can only tell you to write/email/call in to Singtel CSO, ask for senior staff, blah blah blah.....

If there are any charges, u will pay even though on his side, he said he didnt need to pay, etc...

My 2 cents.

Be it singtel , M1 or StarHub, if they are giving new customer dual-band router upon sign up, they should give their loyal customer who re-contract at least the same if not more. Even if I am not using, I can always sell it off. They should not short change me just because I have an existing router.

I will call them up and ensure I will get the router. Else, I will just sign up a new contract and terminate existing line or go to another provider.

Just thinking aloud.

Just to note for singtel, their Aztech router is worthless de... Not as good as ASUS and can only work with Singtel unless u zhng it.

After recontract can hamtam Singtel to change. Its inside the contract. No change, means no new contract.

I already out of contract for more than 6 months already. Not going to recontract also. Plus they gave me $8 discount/month.

My current plan is fiber entertainment 200mbps @ $59.90/mth, 70% discount on jingxuan gold. :s13: monthly less than $100.

Using Aztech 7000 as router. Wireless using other routers as ap.

Only problem is 1 year I already replaced 3 modems. But heck it, today call, tomorrow they come replace and my network will be back up. Ont since day 1 till now still working.
