Hello, my plan is eligible for recontract on december but I urgently need a phone and was hoping to recontract 1 week early without incurring the early upgrade fee. Are there anyone with similar experiences or people that did it before?

Don't think they would give way as it may complicate and cause future issues.

However you may request for lower amount on the early recontract fees.

Many years ago when i did early recontract with a couple of months before free recontract period, the early recontract fees was reduced to $100 instead of usual cost.
This was done via Online store on another Telco.

However if you request for a Recontract voucher early then once you have the recontract voucher it means you can do recontract.

Be patient, breathe in and breathe out, very soon one week will be up. I'm in a similar predicament and I am abstaining from the recontract temptation because I don't want to be bound again just because of a smartphone.
