I'm currently a Starhub prepaid users... planning to change to Singtel post-paid.

Any pros & cons if I bought straight from Singtel shop or Apple Store itself?

Would it defeat the purpose if I bought from Apple store and sign up Singtel post paid plan... combo plan/easymobile/sim only?

And also how to does re-contract works? I heard can change phone every 2 years?

(Newbie's dilemma)

Question is

1. Are you willing to pay full price for the phone

2. Are you willing to tie down by 24 months?

3. Low plan phone price might be still quite expansive,so might not be worth to tie down 24onths

Port over from starhub to singtel i think got discount.

In this case, why even bother to buy from apple store? Just walk into singtel and settle once and for all.

1&2. If full price is cheaper than contract.. (full price vs 24months), better full price right... and vice versa

3. So you're trying to tell me even tough low plan is quite expensive, and not worth it... I should go straight to Apple store? Do clarify for me.

Thanks yo!

Just wondering...

If I buy direct from Apple store and sign up Singtel SIM-Only... wouldn't it be cheaper?

I don't have to worry about contract, and I can buy a new phone whenever I want.

Right?

Degree of freedom and flexibility. And in some case and usage scenarios with many factors coming together, it is calculated that sim only outweighs certain price plans in contracts.

Cheaper? Phone price or total expenditure cost? :)

What's your opinion? Do you think it's grabbing the phone directly from the Apple store and sign up the Singtel SIM-only (where I see 5gb for 50sgd per month compare to combo plan 2 with 2gb add on datax2 48sgd permonth) is cost saving than sign up combo plan all the way?
In terms of total spending/expenditure on the long run.

This you would have to work it out yourself. Sorry but I wasn't the one who did the calculations, also remember to factor in different price plans and phone cost.

You need to convert ur prepaid to post paid first before porting to Singtel.

Can be done . Have to sign up one more sim only line and terminate one month later.

i don't have existing contract on my mobile line since 2014. gives the opportunity to port over anytime i want.
prefer to buy phones w/o contract. as for iPhone, its better to get it from Apple Store as customer service related issues will be dealt straight w apple.

but hor, if u sign phone line + 2yr contract w singtel, you can sign up for mobileswopup! (which is somewhat similar as applecare+, but cheaper). any other issues not covered by mobileswopup then have to go back to apple service centre.

you can try port from starhub prepaid to singtel prepaid, den from singtel prepaid to postpaid.
