Sim only + they give you phone. U pay line and phone monthly together. Was it worth it. Say u pay until end of 24mth or 36th month. Then reapply to get another phone? Yes?

Multiply the monthly phone fee by the number of months (24 or 36) of the contract and compare against the price of the phone on Lazada/Shopee/etc to see. Mostly its not worth it.

If you don't have the upfront money in hand to buy the phone then this option is okay. But if you have the money, just buy the phone and get the best SIM plan out there is better. Some telco provider let you take installment phones so that you will stay with their network.

Run the numbers in Excel. It's not hard and you don't really need to know much formula. I believe it's just =SUM() and simple cell addition here.

Here's one spreadsheet from a local Telegram group. Speaks for itself. (Note that Singtel's SIM-only does not have CallerID included unlike StarHub's under NTUC/CIS, so add $5.35/mo to the totals.)

Understand the poster was doing a comparison for the iPhone 13/Pro on ST/SH. Your use case will differ, so compare and see how. This gives a good indication for flagship-level phones, which are the phones you should be signing with contract as opposed to cheaper phones Street prices were correct as of some months back and would likely have fallen by now. As standard with Apple, SRP is quite fixed so the comparison gives a fair gauge, unlike Android phone prices that vary quite wildly.

No idea. It was a screenshot.

Doesn't look hard to create, since it's just keying in numbers and then calculating it. Should take less than 5 mins?

Does signing contract for flagship cheaper than contract? Else why sign contract?

Some of those who are aware sign contract because they don't want to pay the cost of the flagship phone upfront. It puts the burden of cost on the telco, even though they pay more overall.

Many just sign cos they blindly assume it's cheaper, and because they are used to doing a 2-year upgrade cycle. When you do a like-for-like comparison (which also means matching the larger data bundles of the SIM-only plans for the bigger data users), it doesn't really tell that story.

I have friends in the finance sector who had CIS plans as high as 50% (some of their colleagues allegedly have 60% off CIS even) and a monthly mobile allowance, so it's worth it for them as they're paying less than $30/mo for high end plans that usually cost $1xx. From what I understand, it's been cut down to a standard 20% across the board since the 5G plans were introduced.

I see, so it's coy discount

By any chance, does singtel do promotions for phone plans?

I wanna get a singtel mobile line but $30 a month is too ex. Currently they have a $20 Sim only but that's only for recontract

Will they have sale promotions during GSS for eg

Go with the MVNOs then. Vivifi, ZYM or Zero1 should have pretty decent plans for under $20.

Or even GOMO, which is still under the Singtel group.

let us know how bad the spam calls and airplane mode issue is now
Spam call issue is random one.
I get way more on my SingTel MVNO line than other lines. And no, that line was never on Changi Mobile.

Yesterday night even get 2 spam call that's operated by human, not even bots.

I had fewer spam calls while my number was on Changi Mobile, and at least twice a week since I ported to Vivifi.

It's not Changi Mobile that leaks the numbers, but some other source.

As for airplane visits, that's the main reason I ported out - other than data requiring the toggling of airplane mode across various parts of the island and really slow speeds in a few estates, I even missed a few calls while in Tiong Bahru estate visiting clients.

Does anyone know for sim only 1 year contract, can you upgrade the plan at no cost to phone+plan combo later during the 1 year?

Hi all.

I received two SMS offers but both are different

1 - 100GB of 5G data at $20/mth for first 3 mths (60GB of 4G data thereafter) + 1000 mins + 500 SMS + 12 FREE mths of Caller ID

2 - 60GB plan at $30/mth + 1000 mins + 500 SMS + FREE 5G Access + 12 FREE months of Caller ID + $50 phone voucher + 3 FREE months of Singtel CAST.

I'm currently using iPhone Xr, it's going to be dead soon.

Planning to buy sim only + Singtel pay later ( iPhone 14) or is there any better deal?

Which one better deal?
