no offense, but i think singaporeans too protected in our safe environment liao...watch abit of our local media talk about thailand protest then all scare liao....

i can tell you it's absolutely safe. just came back on the 19 june, despite being there for 7days 6nights i never see a single soldier in sight.

Just stay with the crowd . Mostly would go shopping mall, more safe haha.
But now many airline having promo, flew last month SQ 197, flying Aug SQ 218, then Dec Jetstar 112 , kinda worth !!!

If u worry, then fly when you think bangkok is more peaceful. But airline wont have promotions, and hotel wont have promotions too

Didn't even see any army personnel.

Cabs all go by meter. No 100B or 200B

Very safe. Just got back a few days ago from Bangkok. The situation is like normal.

General tourist advice remains the same, and if any demonstrations just move away from area.

Nothing wrong in Thailand. If you're interested in shopping, just go shopping and stay away from demonstrations. Note the word demonstration, not riot. That's all, don't kaypoh other people business.

In anyway, the election has set to be next year. Political intensity will tone down till pre-election time.

Flying few hours later ... haha think Bangkok should be fine, just went last mth and March when the curfew has started and when there is bombing during March !
