Wonder who came out with the scheme first, Germany or SG?

A good one nevertheless.

yeah. they have a equivilent type of employment board to do job recommendation or choose reskilling. all the while got 65% of old salary & child support while unemployed.

when reskilling, they pay for all misc fees, exam fees too , pay u when u go interview , claim for transport going to interview.... instead of the points system that our govt comes up with to deduct the welfare if u never apply for job.

looks like we need stronger mandate

Reskilling is a good idea. Problem is our skills future is populated by floral arrangement, Korean language, cooking, baking, excursions to neighboring countries.

these courses exists only to suck up government subsidies generously provided by PAP while not providing any societal benefits in return

Agree - especially your second para. I ever attended a skill future course and at the end, I doubt I've learned anything at all.

Not only skillfuture, their union is so powerful that even if employer want to do something stupid, they have to consider 2x 3x or maybe 10x.

Another issue is ageism in companies.

Many companies don't wanna hire reskilled staff in their 40s and 50s, rather turn to hiring younger people instead. Don't forget about FT competition too.

germany got very strict rules for immigration / work . but recently they got hit by alot of **** from another video from this girl.

but basically she mention , germany usually is job > employees de. so if u got job , very unlikely get fire unless u really do something bad because they cant find replacement.
