any routine to share for a better facial care? i got quite a number of acne breaking out..
You can start simple:
- Deep cleansing facial wash to wash off dirt and excess sebum (oil on the skin). E.g. Skinconcierge Calming Acne Cleanser
- Exfoliating pads. I like Stridex (from iHerb; below SGD10) soft touch pads. These textured pads act as an exfoliator to remove any remaining dirt. It's great in eliminating the tiny bumps on the skin surface. Think of them as a polisher for the face; it'll leave your skin smoother than before. I use them every fortnight because I have extremely oily skin.
- Toner to tighten pores. E.g. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner.
- Moisturiser. E.g. Naruko Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Jelly Lotion EX. I bought this in Taiwan and I love its lightweight texture. It's a transparent lotion that melts into a water-like texture when you massage it onto your skin. I find that it's extremely good for my oily skin; it doesn't feel 'heavy', greasy or sticky. Absorbs pretty quickly too so it's great for those who want something fuss-free.
- Sunscreen. E.g. Senka UV SPF50 PA+++ (this is the blue bottle). Available at Watsons. I've bought several bottles of this over the last couple of years and even after trying so many sunscreens, this is one of my favourites. It's super lightweight and it absorbs instantly, leaving the skin with a silky and semi-matte texture. Very comfortable feeling; not sticky at all! It's also pretty affordable (below SGD 18). Its small packaging (40ml) also makes this a great travel option.
If you wear sunscreens regularly, I'll recommend using a makeup remover or wipes to remove it. They'll do a better job than the regular cleansers.
