Even with the recent improvements to the body to make it look less feminine, do you guys still think the SLK is a ladies' car?

Those opinions are unwarranted imo, as it looks damn fierce especially in white/black. The 200 version is a little underpowered though; you'd get a lot more bang with a Z4 at that price range.

370z is much nicer and more powerful car. Why would ppl take this over that?

Anyone who has ever thought of it as a "ladies car" is probably just jelly and never ever stood next to one or even seen one in real life outside of photos.

Back in the 1st-gen SLK days, I had a junior camp mate - different unit but in the same camp, but we were all friends - who drove one into camp ... rich kid, both parents doctors. Dude picked up girls at clubs all the time.

its been rebranded as the SLC, with a new diamond grill.

i think it has a reputation as a ladies car because historically, the SLK has been purchased mainly by women. (according to MB stats)

the z4 is no longer in production (if im not wrong), but MB generally has a premium price over the BMWs? so i guess you cant compare the prices vs horsepower

I would say it does have a girl feel. If I had the money for a 2 seater, I would go for a Z4.

As a guy, definitely the z4 over this. TT also equally as girly.

It's down to personal preference, and whether the owner can carry it off I guess :) MX-5 is okay but a little too small imo.

Not just SLK, don't really like the new mercedes designs. The new design has became too rounded at the corners, which looks kind of ugly.

SLK, or now known as the SLC is a 2 seater roadster, with a hard top convertible

CLK/CL are both no longer in use - they are now known as C class Coupe, which is essentially the C class in a 2 door version, lower suspension and usually a coupe profile - sloping roof.

theres no comparison between mx5 and the SLK honestly. one is a german made machine, the other is just a jap car that looks good.

the slk/slc is way in front, obviously the price tag as well. last i know, the mx5 is going for 190k and the SLK was 265k. when you drive a mx5, there is no road presence. yes its a roadster but it looks like a kid's car compared to the german roadster.

I agree with that, no way it can be compared. I was giving my thoughts on MX5 as a vehicle by itself.

I'm actually finding myself preferring the look and presence of the 2011 - 2015 SLK series more than the new 2016 SLC.. Have to see it up close to make a better call.

really? i thought the new diamond grill ala the CLA grill looks way much better compared to the old front.

the other thing you have to consider is the interior. the old SLK is really bare inside. + the new SLC will have the "magic curtain" skyroof - permanent sunroof but at a touch of a button, it darkens. really handy for singapore.

The earlier ones maybe, but I find the current SLC and the last gen SLK quite ok, with more angular features looks wise

Maybe it's a angle/image thing, I'm sure it'll look fabulous in real life.

Ah the skyroof's definitely one feature to kill for. It's going to be retailing starting from 230k from when I visited MB's showroom two weeks ago.
