Slow down in Deskmini X300M

Hi Gurus, recently my parents 3 years old ASrock mini desktop has been very slow. So i brought it back to do some simple diagnosis but have not been able to find the culprit.
So hopefully some of you can help me on this.

Specs:
AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G Processor
AMD Radeon RX Vega Integrated Graphics
AMD Wraith Stealth CPU Cooler
16GB DDR4 3200mhz (8X2)
1TB NVME M.2 SSD (R 2200 W 1650)
Intel Wireless + Bluetooth Included
Running on Windows 10

Below is what I have done/found:
- Computer is very slow even in BIOS screen. clicking each sub menu has a 0.5-1 second lag
- Tried with only 1 stick RAM also the same
- Tried swapping to other RAM with 1 stick also the same
- Tried swapping to other RAM slot also the same
- Tried removing the SSD also the same
- Update to latest BIOS also the same

Note: i dont have spare RAMs or SSD to swap it out to test if all are faulty.

Last resort is to try reformat windows, but even in BIOS it is slow will this work? what other suggestions do you guys have

try a different mouse or different usb port

What i can think of is this 3yrs old mini pc could be faulty. I guess cheap and small computer can't last long.

slow could be relative.. Can you describe the issue more. I think the BIOS lag thing is normal, since mine is also slightly delayed and I don't really see an issue there. When u mean slow, do you mean opening chrome takes a long time to load, watching videos take time to buffer?
Also provide some details about the computers internet speed and thermals(HWMonitor or something) as well as using CrystalDiskInfo to see the status of the ssd and how much read/write it has done

Thanks guys. The SSD health is at 100% still. By the definition where everything is slow is:
- Navigating within the Bios is slow even when moving between the sub menu
- reformatted the computer and it took almost 3 hours to install just the barebone OS
- launching one simple application like excel or word takes 2 to 3 mins to even see the start up screen appearing (this is after formatting)
- downloading a 20mb file (ie crystaldiskinfo) it got stuck at 0% for a long while before it suddenly jump to 100%. Roughly about 10-15mins later
- I don’t have any issues with mouse moving though. It’s buttery smooth. Just when clicking of icons (to select the icon), launching apps or even windows explorer is very laggy and slow

Check to see if CPU is throttling. Perhaps thermals need to be looked at. Repaste thermal paste, check airflow, CPU fan working, etc...

Check the CPU temp it is okay. Did the test run also with the MB outside of the case. Removed all the dust on the CPU fan

How about playing videos --> To check the IGPU[Very unlikely but testing things out]

Seems like an odd issue.. I assume the M.2 SSD is the boot drive and there isnt any other forms of storage. Can use Crystaldiskinfo to let us know the exact model of your ssd?

You should try checking the SSD Thermals as well when opening things like excel/files to check for thermal throttling. Also while opening these files and experiencing the delays, please check the utilization for the CPU(if it is 100% it could be the cause for the delays),

Also, does the SSD still have space inside? Or is it fully used(1TB)

Check windows event viewer got any errors, if whea alot, can prepare rma cpu

can call tech dynamic if can still rma the whole thing or bring to them check, likely the psu going up lorry

Else you can buy those 19v 120w laptop psu

Sounds like it’s a CPU or motherboard issue. If the lag exists in BIOS, then it should have nothing to do with what is installed on your SSD. I am not using the DeskMini, but the 4350G in a Lenovo Think Center Tiny is still working well.

Thanks guys. Bought it from aftershock. I actually updated the bios and reformatted to windows 11. SSD temp is normal around 40 degrees.
Lazy to diagnose already will be sending to aftershock for them to see what is wrong since they don’t charge for doing the diagnostic.

once again thanks everyone for your help. I think it’s highly likely motherboard issue
