Slow laptop HELP

Hello!

So I have a Lenovo Y520 laptop and it's great EXCEPT:
- opening the start menu sometimes take a few seconds
- opening and loading images saved in my laptop is slow
- playing videos saved on my laptop, the video will lag but the sound doesnt
- when opening the windows settings, it might take a few seconds to load

The specs of the laptop:
i7-7700HQ
8GB ram
GTX 1050ti
1TB HDD 5400RPM

I know i am nit picking and it's not a serious problem but it's kinda annoying so anyone knows what is the problem? I have a feeling it might be cos of the slow HDD but I am not sure

change to ssd. you can buy 480gb bx500 in lazada for $72

after you buy, enable momentus cache in crucial storage executive software.

yes. its definitely to do with the hdd. did you do defrag once in a while? else can upgrade to SSD. nowadays SSD is affordable.
