Just bought a K450 ASUS a week ago and sometimes i feel that when it load up, it takes like 2 mins to settle down for its optimal performance. Even my sandy bridge i7 acer doesn't load so slow. So if changing it to SSD will it make it faster? Is it worth the change? Please advice me this computer noob =:p

i think so,device manager shows that theres is a ssd,but in my computer it doesn't show up,means its a ssd used for OS?

can i add a ssd to my K450 while retaining my 750gb hdd? means i would be using the ssd for OS and programs, while i would use 750gb for other storage.

if can pls provide more info, screenshots will be good. i suspect u hv a HDD and SSD in ur sandy i7. the SSD is used as a cache and will not show up in "My Computer".

I dont know abt the K450. Unless it has a extra mSATA port u cant hv 2 harddisk. Even if it does have a extra mSATA port no guarantee it will work bcos need drivers. if u want to replace 750gb hdd with ssd also hv to see if the hdd is user accessible. nowadays they button up the laptop until the only thing u can touch is the ram slot.

i hv seen my friends dell, it lags unbearably when opening simple prog like word or excel. things that we ssd user take for granted... we bought laptop at same ITfair and almost same spec i7 8gb ram. only diff is i chose asus with ssd cache he chose pure HDD dell

i think you're right should be with ssd cache.. because i ask the pc dream guy before he say can change to ssd no problem, but i forget ask if can add in together with the hdd anot, abit sian loh because from ssd to pure hdd the diff is big even though my k450 is on Haswell now.
