Do SLS PC repair and assembly techs have a toolkit of usual hardware and software tools for system diagnosis? They always take in used or malfunctioning PCs for diagnosis and evaluation.

Some time I always see them running some disk checking software. Not sure if they are checking the HDD reading/writing sector-by-sector or doing some sort of disk cloning.

For CPU, GPU, PSU, RAM, how do they check for any problem and for stability? Just plug in and power up see if they are detected by the mainboard BIOS/UEFI?

CPU: CPU-Z? PassMark? PCMark?
RAM: MemTest86? MemTest86+?
HDD: CrystalDiskInfo and HDTune?
GPU: GPU-Z? FurMark? 3DMark?
PSU: Power Supply Tester?
Sound: Play any default audio files found in Windows?
Network: Open up web browser stream YouTube?

Pretty curious how and what they test to quickly identify malfunctioning parts. Can share any insights?

easy and quick way is to test with their own stuff.. (RAM,Mbo,psu, cpu)

hard disk can be tested by software (bad sectors)

or test with ur own hard disk(Hardware)

Just test test a bit a bit only then tell you good and charge $30

As you said, they are technicians, not system integration testing.
