Hi all hardware pros, need recommendations on building small form factor pc and don't need OS.

Main use: Work(excel, word docs), movies and lastly occasional Dota2, CS and Diablo3.

Previously using laptop -> hdmi connect to 32" phillips lcd tv. (died on me recently)

Budget: looking at 1500 thereabout with decent monitor.

Going for small factor due to space constraint on desk and like to play dota2 w friends at times.

You can build a suitable rig for much less than your budget. would you like to max out your budget or go as low as possible?

If you want to use USB3.0 front casing port, select Asus H81I-PLUS motherboard. Asrock lacks mid-board USB3.0 connector.

Buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, get PC Themes to assemble for you for a fee.

Notes:

1) How large are those excel files that you handle on a daily basis? Can use remaining $$$ to get an i7 if you handle >100 MB excel files on a daily basis.

2) The R7 260X is good enough to play Dota2, CS and Diablo III at max settings in 1080p.

How small is your small... is 20 liter considered small for you?

20 liter is the size of a compact mATX case btw... or a badly-designed ITX case (*cough*PC-Q30*cough*)

Thanks for the recommendations guys!

1) Not to the extent >100mb.
2) Personally didn't have such good exp with AMD cards, probably going for gtx750ti as recommended by others?

Casing wise either CM 120 or 130 looks solid to me.

Also gtx 750ti allows me to do dual monitors in the future? 2x S2340L?

1) Then an i3 will do for your needs.

2) Up to you. Most things can support a dual-monitor setup, even your mobo can support dual-monitors using Intel HD Graphics. Things will get a lot trickier once you want 3X monitors. The GTX 750Ti can support a triple monitor Surround setup if you ever have a need to use 3 monitors.
