Hi,

Would like to asked if anyone uses smartermail before?

I try to use IMAP retrieval for exchange server 2013
but no matter what settings i placed, also connection fail

since when smartermail is opensource?

use imap for normal mail server on your client

smartermail its just a "webmail client".

i don't even get what u saying on ur IMAP retrieval.

if u are using outlook. u should gone thru the wizard of POP/IMAP rather than Exchange as they are using entirely different protocol to communicate which is MAPI.

I am using a exchange server 2013 , and using smartermail as a backup for emails.

Smartermail has a feature which can retrieve/copy(imap retrieval) all the emails from a mail server which allows me to have 'backup' copy in another location

In the first place, what's ur purpose in doing that? Do you even know what does IMAP does?

Client get connected to mail server and read the email via there.

where as POP, client fetch email from your email server and disconnect after retrieval.

Should end user delete an email in your exchange mailbox, whatever configuration you have done on the IMAP retrieval is useless.

Could you seek your SI/partner that managing your company email for advice?

this is not the way to "backup your email".
