I am going to sound very rude but whatever this is the internet.
But do you not ask for a guy/girl's name before you marry?

By signing a loan and getting most probably your parents to be your guarantor when you have no idea of the basic T & C not even printed in font 6 makes you an idiot. It's like marrying a person without knowing their name!?

Since you don't even know, how about I teach you how to read your bloody contract once you manage to dig it out from the dump that you didn't bother to dig out before asking - look for this thing called early repayment penalty. If there is one, it is going to be either a % of the full loan you made + interest or a % of the un-disbursed portion + interest.

What interest rate? Either the bank commercial rate or CPF rate. Either way you are stupid for 1) not reading and 2) asking here when you should be asking the bank you borrowed from.

:s22:

I really want to go on and ask how you managed to first get into SMU and then finish uni without having common knowledge as this but I will stop here.

I guess you are asking about penalty for early settlement.

You have to find your copy of contract signed and look it up
or
call the bank

each case varies depending on which type of loan & bank.
