software update for s3 non-lte

Just received a notification on the above. My csc code is SIN and currently on stock jelly bean 4.1.2. Anybody updated yet? If yes, care to share...

I reset to factory default after battery drain like crazy after updating, so far so good.

What is the point of samsung releasing updated firmware if you claimed it is not compatible with s3. Even if they release 4.2.2 will u still stick to 4.1.1? Been updating my phone ever since i got it back last dec and its been fine. I believe the hangups and the shutdowns are hardware related. Mine got its mobo and lcd replaced.
