Perform a soft reset on your phone and use it till the battery level is down to 10% (there should be a pop-up warning for low battery).

Turn off your iPhone or put it into "Airplane" mode and plug in your charger until it is fully charged.

Voila!

Lithium battery no longer need to calibrate. It will damage it faster instead. If you read Apple website, they no longer include the full discharge and then charge method already. For me 100% can last one and a half day. Just turn off background, those location services you don’t use and battery can last more.

Turning off background. Will it affect out whatsapp and email?

Please share the article, all batteries need to be calibrated. Plus it is quite safe if the percentage doesn’t fall below 10% and I calibarate only once in a couple of months. Not much stress there.

Also, I only use my phone from 80%-30% in order to keep usage at half-cycles. I’ve tried and tested this method on my almost 3-year old iPhone 6 Plus and the battery is going strong (about 77%).

For almost 3 years, it is pretty good.

Anybody keeps getting prompted to update? It only happens when I press power button after standby.

Stupid calculator bug still on 11.1.

Wtf Apple. 1+2+3 = 23.

Multi billion soon trillion dollar company can’t fix bug. 5 beta on 11.1 and the bug still there.
Fixed in 11.2 Beta 1. May also expect it to be fixed on 11.1.1 next Tuesday, 1am SGT (Monday, 9am PT).

If you cannot wait, then go to the Public Beta.

11.2 is not bad. There are memory fixes for apps. Lesser reloading.

A ios clean up is a good idea! My 6+ is lagging even on 10.3.3 and never done clean up from day 1.
After resetting as a new device, how do you restore the data like contact or whatsapp chat history to have the clean up effect?
Restore from itune is still ok?
Thanks

When was the last time you clean installed your 6?

If you've never, maybe you should.

A fellow 6S+ user updated to 11 over the existing 10.x.x. He had no end of problems - animation lag, apps crashing, or launching but never appearing, app switch tasking lags or freezes, battery drain, etc.

He put up with the agony and frustration for weeks, before going back to his usual practice - clean installing iOS and setting up his phone as a new device. Fellas, if you're in the same place, try it. What have you got to lose?

For Contacts, you up-sync your contacts to iCloud Contacts (http://apple.co/2zcPUVH). So when you log into your iCloud account after wiping your phone, your contacts will sync down.

For Whatsapp messages, you can back them up to iCloud too (http://bit.ly/2zbGZE1), provided you have enough storage space.

To clean install iOS11.1, first download the correct .ipsw file for your phone. Then connect your phone to iTunes and follow the steps - http://bit.ly/2zfbadH

After the installation is complete, set up your phone as a new device, log back into your iCloud account and download your apps again from the App Store.

Warning: this procedure will erase the contents of your phone and install a fresh copy of iOS. So back up any files, photos, music, movies, etc. before doing this. It's a pain the arse, but you only need to do this once, until iOS 12 comes out.

It's only natural with games like Pogo. Google Maps behaves somewhat similarly. Downloading the offline map helps a little.

Erm, NO, not so with iOS10 on iphone 7. That's clearly a diff in battery drain.

Your mileage may vary, do note that battery drain increases quicker as the temperature increases while using such apps.

Quite decent

If you notice, drain on 4G and WiFi are about the same.

To add, most of the usage is from WhatsApp and Safari browsing. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter occasionally. Light user here.

Because of lag. If u see the button nv lights up then tap on plus one more time . I think they purposely reduce the delay if u tap too fast on the keys except for numbers. I tried on all addition and sub and mult or div. All same.

I took the gamble to upgrade to 11.1. So far it works much better than the last 10.x.x build, which is like H**L.
