Me lor. You referring to backing up whatsapp chats from within whatsapp right?

That's correct. The whatsapp chat backup within the whatsapp application does not work. I ditched it. So I am now relying on my iPhone iCloud backup (included whatsapp there).

Note that there are 2 ways to backup whatsapp on iPhone - either thru app, or via iCloud phone backup. Now I am using the 2nd option.

Can i confirm that using the iphone icloud backup option will back up the entire whatsapp including the chats? If so then i’ve no worries.

I always thought that just backed up the app only since there is a separate option within whatsall for chat backup.

Yes, iPhone iCloud backup will also backup WhatsApp (provided it is turned on). The downside is you cannot just restore whatsapp on a new phone, you need to restore entire phone to get the chats back.
Just google it, there are many posts/videos on this.

Well that’s fine cos when i change phone, everything is restored anyway. My fear was losing my past chats cos some are work related.
