Anyone noticed that after updating to iOS 16.6.1 the SMS sender name in Messages become all lowercase?

nope. mine on ios17
I’m using IphoneX on iOS 16.6.1

no such issues encountered
Can I trouble you guys to check your older SMS (from organisations) also? Like those from May 2023 or earlier (if you have not deleted them).

Reason is because I checked with my bro he mentioned that sometime around May 2023 there was a split thread issue, whereby SMS from organisations will come in a new separate thread making it 2 threads from the same sender, although both will still contain uppercase letter (where applicable). Then after updating to iOS 16.6.1, the sender name in the older threads all became lowercase letter.

For my case, I only updated from iOS 15.7.1 to 16.6.1 recently, so all my threads became lowercase letter. But future SMS will probably come in a new separate thread and contain uppercase letter (where applicable).

I got “DHL” ( non scammer 😂) SMSes

Still in caps

SMSes all the way back to 2019 from other organisations are still normal .
Normal in the sense that upper case and lower case are still in original format.

suggestion for you: try going settings -> messages
Then toggle iMessage off then on again
Maybe resetting your messages will do the trick .

Tried toggling on and off iMessage on 16.6.1 but unfortunately it didn’t help. Just updated to iOS 17 and still the same. Sigh.
