One step forward two step back. Was trying to add esim QR code from pictures, but it seems that 17.4 remove this feature. It was working for 17.3 hence those who feel they need this feature might not consider to update to 17.4.

Oh dear, I was planning to use eSIM for my upcoming trip to Japan. So now must use another phone to display the eSIM QR code and then scan it using iPhone. Is that correct?

Or just use esim from Ubigi or Airalo. They install direct into your phone. I used both while i was in japan last yr.

Just found this out too strangely they remove this option. I remember before the update the options were there.
But other types of QR codes work except the esim ones, while just pressing it and hold.

But anyway you can email the esim qr code to yourself and open it from there it works that way too.

//If you’re using an iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later and you receive a QR code from your carrier in an email, or from the carrier webpage, touch and hold the QR code, then tap Add eSIM./

it works for me, just long press on the QR and you will see the Add eSIM option.

how is this even a missing feature. i had to print the email to scan the qr code or send the email to another friend so i can scan the screen.

Updated my IP 15 PM and IPad Pro to 17.4.1

BTW, my extended warranty bug is still present for my IP 15 PM.

I got a warranty of 1.5 years instead of a normal 1 year after upgrading to 17.4

Same on my iP15, but 17.4 was slightly buggy too.
