iOS 18.4 iPhone 16 PM. Encountered apps auto refreshing. Example safari tab with hwz will auto refresh in background after the phone was left idling. How I know because the tab background for hwz display will be “light” instead of “dark” mode. After I refresh the tab then it will be dark mode.

Straits time E paper also auto refresh to main page from the last date and page of e paper I read. Because of this I kept needing to select the date and the pages again to resume for where I left off.

Default mail app also auto push new email as I can see the numbers at the top right of mail app which indicates new email when the settings are manual instead of push all the while.

Remember something like this happen before in one of the iOS update thought cannot remember which one.

These resulted in my phone to feel hot and battery drain faster compared to before updating to iOS 18.4 as it kept refreshing on background. Wonder anyone encounter similar as well.

Screenshot of safari tab as below. The light mode is the tab auto refresh to like default which shows I am log out and dark is the mode that I used. After a while the dark mode tab will also turn light mode if not using the phone. After I click into the light mode tab, it will auto refresh to dark mode and will be logged in.
