The lake is Yeongnangho Lake.

Quite nice to walk around but not a must-go place.

The Younggeumjeong Pavilion is quite a walk to/from the fish market though.
Maybe can take a taxi

Avoid the "famous" kalguksu restaurant near the beach.
It is pathetic, expensive and not good esp when compared to the one in Myeongdong.

In the Fish market:
1. Tempura prawns for about 1000krw each are good
2. Get those red/snow crabs with the fried rice on the shell.
The fried rice on the shell is very tasty. Can dabao or eat there
3. Avoid the white sponge cake/bread shop, it is tasteless despite the long queues
4. The chips shop with various types of fried chips is very good too. Have taste samples.

Crab soup
About sgd 16

It was a small whole crab
Meat was sweet n juicy though not much meat.

The side dishes were quite good. Mushrooms were tasty.

Ya it is the correct link
They have different set menus.

2 different kinds of crab soup and 1 grilled dried fish.
The grilled dried fish isnt that good.

How does kobus work? When you reach Korea must go buy something called T-card which is like our transitlink card? Can use it to pay for all train, subway and bus trips? Where do I go and buy the card?

Korean buses?

T-money or Cashbee work like transit link.

Can buy at subway station or convenience stores.

Can only use cash to top up

Works for buses/subway for almost all of Korea i think.

yeah, was really interesting experience

we walked all the way from our hotel (Sea Cruise Hotel) to the Younggeumjeong Pavilion and then to Abai Village and then to the crab restaurant.
we also went to the big EMART (supermarket) near the crab restaurant

the "easy" hiking trails to the waterfalls at Seoraksan was more shag though

i’m looking to go sokcho from seoul in august. can i check what do you think of
my itinerary?

version 1:
day 1- take 10am bus from Seoul express bus terminal to sokcho
reach at 1230 and go eat mulhoe at sokcho hangari mulhoe
2pm check in the hotel sokcho, nua at beach a little
5pm go pavilion and the lighthouse
7pm go eat dinner at dongpo port - i wanna eat crab!

day 2: wake up and see sunrise at about 6am
then take bus to seoraksan at 8am
9am take cable car go up seoraksan and go temple
1pm to abai village and gunang market
4pm to go back to hotel collect luggage and take 520pm bus back to seoul.


VERSION 2
day 1- take 9am bus from Seoul express bus terminal to sokcho
reach at 1130 and go eat mulhoe at sokcho hangari mulhoe
1pm take a taxi go up to seoraksan and take cable car up.
430pm go temple
6pm go sokcho beach walk and eat dinner - crab!

next day
wake up watch sunrise then 10am take 3 hours chartered taxi to go all the tourist spots in sokcho then end off with abai village and gunang market for lunch before going back to seoul at 4/5pm.


just worried about the summer heat.
