Came across this:

Gigabyte G1 Gaming GeForce GTX 960 / 970 / 980 LED Swap

Fairly interesting project. Might want to DIY with my G1 Gaming to match leds of my stuck h100i and RIVBE but never use solder before :(

Can give some advice for soldering? What wattage is good or doesn't matter just solder because its not connected to PCB of GPU.

But most inportantly, I hope I stop swapping hardware after I do this mod...

Get a low wattage iron (25~ish watts is plenty) with a chisel tip or small enough pointed tip, or I can do it for you for kopi :D

Came across the mod as well when I was searching for a Green LED GTX 980. But figured that it will be too much hassle sourcing for the LED. Do share here if you manage to get it done. Really looks awesome.

In fact, it's quite puzzling that GPU doesn't come with RGB lighting to suit various custom theme. The only GPU with RGB lighting is the EVGA GTX 980 Classified Kingpin

what footprint they use? can try search e14. but a bit wasted to order only 1 led...

May do a build log, want to paint those silver air 540 red too, leaving the fan areas accented with a nice black.

I think rgb led deployment takes more design..? And extra cost hahaha. Two bulbs only.

base on ocn think you can go for 2-2.5mm led...

colour up to you... viewing angle maybe 120 or 140...

may want to check the voltage but i think below 3.5V should be ok...

wait for other people to recommend...:s13::s13::s13:

The amount of models they stock is pretty ridiculous, ranging from 1's to packs of 5-10 to reels of 2000's. If you find something that works but comes in packs or reels, they will surely have something similar thats sold in loose numbers. Anyway if its cheap in pack of 5 no harm getting it too.

Btw free delivery is only for RS, E14 has minimum order for free delivery I think. I once ordered a $0.50 part in the morning and they delivered it to me same day afternoon :s13:
