Been there once before the vice crack down, stayed at Patong. Really nothing much to explore if you're not keen on outdoor activities. Usual stuff like massage, island hopping, ATV rides, rafting. I did a half day scuba diving trip with one of the operators there. Walk along the main streets, you will find plenty of diving shops.

Don't forget the explore Soi Bangla. Go go bars like Suzy Wong and Diablo are worth exploring.

Hi, anyone has travelled to Phuket? Care to share?

phuket is just like malaysia muar, segamat, less of city feel ...
Stay at patong area, at least if u are hungry, there is junceylon mall with lots of restorans there ... there is big c extra that closes at 12am daily ...

food there are not cheap ...
even for bazaan market, their zi cha is about 150b for fried rice, vege, egg , etc
if u want to eat seafood, be prepare to bring more cash

6 mantis prawn is about 40+ sgd ...
many china tourists go there and eat ...
catch them live at the market, and then bring to level 2 to prepare to dish ...

Fast food:
burger king , macdonalds, not cheap
one meal is about 250 to 350 onwards ...

transportation :
not much jam there.
not much cab, unlike bangkok ...
better to book your own driver
we booked ours, 700b one hour from airport to patong area ...
if u take normal cab at airport is 800b onwards

Hi bro, I have been staying in Phuket for almost 4 years.

Try to book your hotel in rat-u-that road, try to avoid Nanai road as it can be a far distance to walk to the main attraction or beach.

As for food, there is a few restaurant suit our taste buds (Not too sweet nor too sour) Number 6, Aroy Thai, Mr good Seafood. As for price, it's more or less the same as everywhere in Patong.

Recommend to rent a motorbike to ride around the city, it's nice to visit the beach on the south and north side.

If you are seafood person and don't wish to spend much. Leam Hin Seafood is one of your best options. Local Phuket Thai Price.

But generally Phuket stuff is more expensive than Bangkok or Chiang Mai. The local are usually is richer than us. :D:D

Hi, anyone has travelled to Phuket? Care to share?
I did a solo trip to Phuket several years ago. Stayed at the Pacific Club Resort in Karon Beach, sounds posh but it's ,a small, friendly boutique hotel on a hill about ten minutes walk from the beach. I also took a day trip out to the Similan Islands which was really beautiful. Didn't spend much time at Patong because I've stayed there on previous trips. I didn't have any trouble eating at the small eateries in Karon. The meals were fairly cheap and delicious. I think if you are the type to want easy accessibility to malls and nightlife, then Patong is good for you. Personally, I prefer quieter surroundings.

Jetstar - usually good promo price is 70+sgd two way nett taxes in ...

Enjoy ur trip ...
would recommend my friends to fly budget airline

cox dont really see the need to fly silkair
their aircraft is about the size of jetstar tiger, 3x3 seating plan ...
unless one really needs the 30kg lugagge, else wont recommend friends to fly silkair ...
