Do you guys bring first aid kits?
Yes.

For the activities and trouble I've gotten into, I'm glad I did. I was in Montenegro - Ulcinj for about a week or so, and went for a dip in Lake Shkodër. It was refreshing, but unfortunately I received a rather deep cut on the sole of my feet while getting out. It was bleeding profusely, and I was about 2-3hrs away from town. I applied first aid by first irrigating the wound, and applied pressure with a chunk of gauze, and bandaged it up as best I could with a combination of rubber bands and some cordage. Limping back to town took about 5-6hrs due to the mountainous terrain.

Needless to say, the additional weight of 200-300grams for the kit paid off.

If you will be travelling alone for extended periods of time in rural places with the chances of help being far away (unlike urban environments), I do recommend taking a minimal kit at the very least. Only deck out your kit with supplies that you know how to use.

If you can and are willing, I can recommend a couple of small items that you can add to your kit and still maintaining a small profile.

Tiny flashlight (AAA sized batteries or smaller), small compact mirror (probably cost $2-3 from daiso), and a small but loud whistle.

If you are motorbiking, you'll also need first aid kit for the bike like a basic set of tools (spanners, screwdriver, allan keys, pliers, spare fuses, some zip ties), tyre repair kit, possibly a jump start battery kit, a spare H4 bulb, and of course the necessary biking protective gear.

A small headlamp would be useful if you run into bike problems at night.

as what others have said, some meds are in order. panadol, cetirizine, antacids and plasters should cover alot of scenarios, though not all. if u really wanna construct a really good mini first aid kit, my list is below:

trauma shears
gauze x2 pack
plasters x 20
thermometer
chlorhexidine satchet
saline ampoules
crepe or triangular bandage
the otc meds as above
steroid cream
