Some Advice on Uni application please

Some background information about myself
I'm a polytechnic diploma holder in the course of aerospace engineering with GPA of 3.7.
I graduated in 2017 and currently I'm working in an aerospace company.
Academic info
NT stream
ITE college central(aerospace technology with gpa of 3.9)
I self studied for o level last year, but I only got D for English, C for e math and A for Chinese.
I've applied for local Uni but didn't get in.
So I want to try to apply for ntu and nus again this year, really passionate about engineering courses, also considering applying for SIT.

If I take SAT examination on math and English, would it gain any point for me to apply for Uni?
Any kind soul tell me if it's useful to take SAT/A level? I am already 25, so really don't want to spend so much time and energy if it's not useful.

Apply for eng courses that are around 3.4-3.5 u wanna ensure a spot forst. Your o lvls is still a disadvantage. Dont study for sat or A lvls. You did not do well in O lvls and it is unlikely you can score for A lvls in such a short time

How much more time can you afford?

Probably have time after work and weekend. I have other commitments as well, would six months be enough to prepare for the tests?
I don't want to fill up all my time on the tests but I feel that I should do something if I want to study a degree.

Six mths will not be enough. Just go for ntu eng with low cop

Cause NT was never trained to take GCE O. Base on WISE standard (alternate NA education to take GCE O in ITE night class as per government direction), NT GCE N is only NA Sec 2 standard.

If cannot enter full time, try part time cause you will have a higher chance since you are a working adult with good GPA for your Diploma.

You should try apply to SIT, they accept ITE student without O level. I have a few classmate came from NT path.

There's a new course launch this year in Aircraft Systems Engineering, BEng (Hons)

As long as you can proof your passion during the interview, I believe SIT should give you a chance.

Thanks for the info. I want to work overseas after getting a degree, do you have any idea on the employment opportunities with SIT overseas? And I really don't want to stand on a lesser opportunity because of I'm from NT. That's why the idea of taking the mentioned tests came to my mind.

overseas as in where? China? Taiwan? Japan? Germany? Malaysia? different country the opportunities varies greatly.

Think like an employer why do they need to hire an FT from SG? Is there a lack of such skilled ppl back home?

NUS/NTU Engineering School may be a bit too tough for you. It's extremely mathematical, even for students who have scored A1 for A Math.

I'd highly recommend SIT for Polytechnic students.

Thanks, I plan to work either in China or Australia. But there's a lot of research need to be done. I feel like I haven't sorted this out yet.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I'm considering SIT. I know that it's hard to study in nus/Ntu. But I would want to take a try. Sounds very overly confident. But do you think if it would help if I study SAT math?

H2 MATHS is what you need

I think if no o level, to enter ntu can use poly n ite.

http://admissions.ntu.edu.sg/UndergraduateAdmissions/Pages/PolyDiploma.aspx read the part where it writes about thr part w/o o level.

However the aerospace u studied in poly is more electrical/electronic or mechanical?

It will be easier to study the same field, ie mechanical in poly n study mechanical in poly.

Maths wise having A level maths is good for general mathematical manipulation, but Polytechnic level Engineering maths is also enough to give u an overview. But need to work a bit hard.

Sort this out by the time u figure out the landscape for these countries may be very different
